  1. This is a person who is happy the Mets won. Like me.
  2. Yes, I promised I'd save him for when the Mets clinched the NL East.
  3. Yay! And because it has to be done: See he's saying "Let's Go Mets!"
  4. Magic number to clinch best record in baseball:

Shoot, that's the one guy I thought I had pegged because of the goggles. If it's not Duaner than I don't know who it is.
  6. You should write to HVAC Guy at Shea too.

  8. Danke Schoen, darling Danke Schoen. Thank you for all the joy and pain. Picture shows, second balcony, was the place we'd meet, second seat, go Dutch treat, you were sweet. Danke Schoen, darling Danke Schoen. Thank you for walks down lovers lane. I can see, hearts carved on a tree, letters inter-twined, for all time, yours and mine, that was fine. Danke Schoen, darling Danke Schoen. Thank you for funny cards from Spain. I recall, Central Park in fall, how you tore your dress, what a mess, I confess, that's not all. Danke Schoen, darling Danke Schoen. Thank you for seeing me again. Though we go, on our seperate ways, still the memory stays, for always, my heart says, Danke Schoen. Danke Schoen, Auf Wiedersehn, Danke Schoen.
  9. I just remember that we all ragged on Torre and the Yankees for celebrating when they backed into the playoffs with 87 wins in 2000, I figured I'd be hypocritical to want the Mets to go hog-wild.
  10. Time to get this damn clinching business overwith. And if they have any self-respect, after this weekend's ignominy, there will be no champagne, no celebration, nothing more than an ordinary win.
  11. ="cooby"]You can all relax. I put on the lucky Bernie shirt. We're Doomed!
  12. I thought his hair looked bad in his playing days and any change would be an improvement. I was wrong.
  13. Perhaps I should offer a better prize.
  14. I propose a contest. Write a paragraph from the point of view of a Jeter apologist explaining how this incident shows that Jeter is a competitor, a leader and has the intangibles that help the Yankees win. Bonus points if you can somehow make A-Rod look bad. We'll vote on the best entry and the winner will be the new captain of the CPF.
  15. At the very least, Magic Number 1 should realize that fish and houseguests stink after three days.
  16. You make it sound like I have tapeworms.
  17. I know Capt. Redass. I now know Thick-Legged One. Who is Sweetass? And why are all the Mets being defined by their dorsal/lower extremity regions?

  19. ScarletKnight41 wrote: ="Willets Point"]I've never heard "Thick-legged one" before You skip a lot of threads, don't you? You're snarky often, aren't you?
  20. I've never heard "Thick-legged one" before and as a thick-legged-American I take offense.

  23. I think Magic Number fears irrelevancy. I mean no one wants to be a zero and have no one talking about you anymore. Magic is just trying to hang on to it's last shred of glory. Can anyone talk to Magic and let it know just how happy it would make so many thousands of people if it were reduced to nothing?
  24. The Snakes win on a walk-off sac fly in the 16th. One of these days there's going to be an historic 35+ inning game and I'm going to see it. For now I have to find other ways to pass the time until I feel sleepy.
  25. Any fellow insomniacs out there? Colorado & Arizona are tied at 6 in the bottom of the 15th inning.
