  1. I'm still waiting for a Melissa Lima photoshop.
  2. It's Lima time! Funny and painful at once.
  3. You haven't found me yet. You have to follow the arrow.
  4. Gwreck wrote: If a Cardinals sweep put an end to the "AL is better" bullshit I wouldn't mind. I think a well-played 7 game series should put an end to that no matter who wins except for the people who are too stupid to be worth arguing with anyhow.
  5. Attending a Mets game in person, Tom Glavine starts, the Mets lose. This happened to me three times this season out of six games I attended so it's rather ingrained in my psyche.
  6. soupcan wrote: Stay tuned Mets fans, this team is for real I hope so. I'd really be embarrassed if they were imaginary. Especially since that would mean I made up this forum and all of you people as well.
  7. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Poor guy. It's bad enough that his name is "Yadier" but now he gets that middle name to go with it. I'm sure he's not grieving too much today.
  8. Brothers and Sisters, we together today to baptize with the waters of Flushing Bay. Yadier Molina, you are hereby and forever after known as: Yadier Fucking Molina!!! (Yadier Bleeping Molina when the kids are around). Go forth and torment us no more. Amen.
  9. I honestly don't think the Mets made the wrong moves. Suppan and Wainwright made the right pitches and the Mets couldn't hit 'em. We lost on the field not in the strategy.
  10. Luck Fasorda? I'll be watching. The World Series is one of the great sporting events of the year and I'll follow as much as I can. Looks like it could be a good one too.
  11. I generally root for the NL with the exception of Boston (due to it being my adopted hometown) and Detroit (due to my wife). So, go Tigers.
  12. Edgy DC wrote: Let''s get this straight. There wasn't a fight. Cleon showed up to take a shit and antagonize people. It's not like there was a misunderstanding that got amplified because of tender feelings and disappointment. There was some unpleasant snippiness among other members too.
  13. I've always been curious about rolfing but never knew where to go for it. Now I can find Craig Swan.
  14. Beautiful, that's the first I've seen of it.
  15. That's my point. The Cards have only just now gone ahead despite the Cubs being in a pennant drought for the past 61 years.
  16. Valadius wrote: Just look at who we open against. Oy! Does this mean we have to witness their ring ceremony?
  17. Weird fact. In the total number of pennants by franchise the Cardinals (17) have only just passed the Cubs (16).
  18. Next year.

  20. 1985 - Mets have a brilliant season only to fall short to the Cardinals with a tense, tightly-played series at the end of the season. 1986 - Mets win it all. 2006 - Mets have a brilliant season only to fall short to the Cardinalswith a tense, tightly-played series at the end of the season. 2007 - ?
  21. You're picking a bad, bad time to point out typos buster! For the record: my = me.
  22. metsmarathon wrote: oh, also, if the cards win, we won't hafta hear all that shit about how far inferior the NL was to the AL - not that we should actually care about any of that. Yeah, that shit's driving me crazy too.
  23. Monday Oct. 27th, 1986 and after my Mom gets home from work she decides then of all days to take my clothes shopping! I'm of course freaking out because I fear we won't get back in time for the last game of the World Series. Pretty irrational since then like now the game didn't start until 8:30. Anyhow, I did get this cool new shirt - blue with darkish blue stripes - and put it on when I got home and wore it while watching the game. After the Mets won the World Series, I considered that my lucky shirt and wore every chance I could get. I wore the thing to death, even when I was in college and there were holes in the elbows. Finally, I convinced myself to throw it out. I wish I had my lucky shirt tonight.
  24. Congrats Cards, especially Suppan, that's a couple of pitching performances for the ages. While in most cases I agree with metsmarathon, my wife has won me over to the Tigers so I'll be pulling for them. They're really the most compelling story in baseball this season and it would be great for them to win it all.
