  1. That's the term for the two-headed monster that results when KC & Yancy merge, kind of like Doublepon.
  2. Yancy Street Gang wrote: I thought Aaron Burr was involved with the founding of CitiBank, but maybe that was Chase Manhattan. Burr founded the Bank of Manhattan which later merged with Chase National Bank. The best part is how Burr got the charter for the bank. Knowing the Hamiltonians would never allow him to get a charter for a bank he put in a request for a water company with a clause for it being allowed to start a bank. No one would vote against bringing much needed fresh water to New York so Burr got his water company and his bank. Very clever.
  3. I find it sad that no one was in attendance for the 1964 ceremony.
  4. ="Yancy Street Gang"]I just hope that Preparation H or Depends makes them an offer they can't refuse. Or a feminine hygiene product cuz that's always funny.
  5. Companies that may be bidding on naming rights: Company #1 Company #2 Company #3
  6. Yankee is a corporate name.
  7. I hat you!
  8. I'm going to drop out unless you really need me for the league's sake. I didn't have time to pay enough attention to this and I think it was detrimental to the league overall.
  9. Au revoir, Tom.
  10. Sosa wants to play with the Mets because that's where his hero Chico Escuela played.

  18. It would be cool if they just went by their English name: The Georgetown Whats. I once went to summer school at Georgetown and they have a convenience store called Saxa Sundries which at least signifies an awareness of the the origin of the school nickname on campus.
  19. Lock it baby lock it!!!
  20. Frayed Knot wrote:[soapbox]Have I ever explained how much it is I hate this thread and want to see it join Elvis? (assuming he's really dead)Nothing against the original idea of this thing neccesarily, but - like the 'Brogna' thread last year - I hate what it's become and the length of time that it's lived. The signing (or not) of a FA the magnitude of Soriano is a topic that SCREAMS for it's own thread where it can be discussed and/or disgusted. But, instead, it'll wind up getting lost in a 6-month long, 30-whatever page thread simply because it was once mentioned in a newspaper column the same way the whole Bobby V leading his team to the Japan Championship was buried in a mega-thread because someone was under the impression that they were "supposed" to put it in the ex-Mets thread on account of Bobby having once been a Met.You're allowed to let old threads fade away and start new ones folks ... and you don't even need special permission to do so.[/soapbox]I love you man!!!

And if he sang "Meet the Mets" that would be kind of cool. However I'd prefer to have a young arm that could pitch well for a long time.
  22. FUCK NO!
  23. Won the first game won by the Mets in Mets franchise history. Tim Teufel?
  24. As a New Englander I'm offended that a group of unworthies took the name Yankees.
