  1. The Beatles were known for performing on a stage with a silo theme.
  2. Definitely Soldier Field. It could be a track & field event drawn by someone who thought "I'll just draw a track and some people in a field."
  3. Frayed Knot wrote: iow, so far we're worse off during the easy stretch than we were during the 'hard' one. Not really, the Mets have pretty much the same winning percentage now that they did after the Dodgers series. They've held steady.
  4. After three series, the Mets are 5-4 which seems decent although the lack of offense in the 4 losses felt concerning despite the outpouring of offense in the 5 wins. Temporarily losing first place to the Braves was also disconcerting. And Scherzer and Marte went on the IL. But the Mets have regained sole control of the NL East and maintain a 102 win pace, so all is good.
  5. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Maine, the 23rd state, is one of only two states that are named after a Mets player. Well, there's Georgia named for George Stone, George Theodore, George Foster, and, of course, George Thomas Seaver. Florida named for Wilmer Flores. Montana named for Willie Montanez. North and South Carolina named for Ed Charles. And Washington named for Claudell Washington.
  6. Lead off beaning followed by obligatory pan to Buck.
  7. Sweet DP. Now score runs.
  8. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Restrictions on shifting the infielders is dumb and counterproductive.
  9. To be honest, the only happy outcomes I care about are Mets wins, Braves losses, and Dodgers losses (and Yankees losses!).
  10. According to https://www.hispanicheritagemonth.gov/about/official sources: The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period.
  11. Just tuning in today, but this doubleheader looks more like what we'd expect of the "soft schedule."
  12. [fimg=500]https://i.imgur.com/rLk4xhO.png[/fimg] That is one ill-fitting, blue-dotted Mets cap.
  13. More importantly, Judge's 211 career homers ties him with Kevin McReynolds!
  14. This was not a good game to attend for my first Mets game in 3 years.
  15. ‘Narco' is just the name of Edwin Diaz's entrance music. The one with the trumpets.
  16. Geesh. After a day like today if I'm the Mets I'm gonna want to go hide away in Pittsburgh.
  17. Why was McNeil on the infield grass instead of running for 3rd. I'm confused.
  18. What the hell just happened?!?
  19. Time to drive in some runs!
  20. Edgy/WP similarity score rising.
