  1. going to the bottom of the 9th down 2-1. It will be McCann, Sacrificial Lamb, and Nimmo.

Maybe Alvarado felt that comfortable because he knew none of the Mets would hit him When your team's marquee player is already out of the lineup after taking a 98-MPH fastball to the face, maybe it's best not to start something your teammates have to finish. Exactly.
  3. I don't think Castro wants any of Hoskins. I think Hoskins could snap Castro like a twig.

  5. Come on Dom. you ain't Superman,. Kryptonite won't work on you.
  6. I suspect that Harper may be available to hit. His posts show that his eye is open and he states he is fine.
  7. Nice tag up by McNeil on that Alonso fly. Unfortunately, now he is in scoring position.
  8. Well, Familia throws it almost everywhere other than where the target is. With a target in the center of the plate, Familia is likely to throw it in the dirt, 2 feet wide of the plate or on the black of the plate. The one place he is likely to throw it is right down the middle where the target actually is.
  9. Thanks for sending me the new address. I guess I just needed a nudge to remind me I don't need to suffer through Mets games alone. Great to be back in the Pool.
  10. =kcmets post_id=62618 time=1619831995 user_id=53] Home plate ump is an inconsistent chump.
  11. Still, 1-11 with RISP is pretty damn bad. I'd say overall, the Kryptonite is winning.

  13. Do you believe in miracles? A run scoring hit with RISP.
  14. RISP is like Kryptonite to Mets hitters.
  15. Lead off single by Alonso. At least he isn't in scoring position. Maybe that will inspire our hitters.
  16. This team is frustrating to watch. Baseball in general, is frustrating to watch. Baseball has essentially become hit HR or strike out. There is little else. Oh and I hate the shift. Smart play by Herrara.
  17. I shelled out for MLB.TV this year in anticipation of this team being fun to watch. So far I was wrong. Yes, DeGrom is fun to watch, though watching him continually get stiffed by his offense is very frustrating. I don't know how DeGrom keeps his sanity. Stroman has been good and looks like he is ready to suffer a prototypical DeGrom fate. Nimmo with a double, so our chances of scoring this inning is pretty much over.
  18. At this stage in his career, only as a desperate, last resort.
  19. Springer is at the top of my wish list for this off season. If the Mets can land Springer, then add a solid starter to slot behind DeGrom and a proven catcher, I will be very happy. Yeah, I know I don't want much, but for the first time in several years, I truly have hope that the Mets cand (and will) make the moves to legitimately improve the team.
  20. McNeil, Smith and Conforto are the three I would most like to retain. The return would need to be pretty great for me to part with that group. Rosario, Nimmo, Davis, and Cano are the bait i would use in trade. Not sure Cano has much trade value unless it is a swap of expensive contracts or the Mets are willing to eat a large portion of the money owed on his deal.
  21. I would like to add Lindor to the Mets roster, if the cost (players) is reasonable. The proposed Rosario/Davis/Giminez deal is a little steep, but not totally unreasonable. I'm just not convinced that shortstop is the area of greatest need for the Mets. I would prefer the Mets use their trading chips to secure a proven frontline starter, catcher, or centerfielder. If the teams management feels they can secure a few of those needs through free agency, then I am okay with using their trading chips to upgrade the team at other positions. It would be nice to at least secure one of the more pressing needs before using trading chips elsewhere.
  22. A nice start to the off season. He should be a nice, solid #3 (o4 #4 starter) in the rotation. Now the Mets need to add another good , solid, proven starter and the rotation should be greatly improved. At least this off season, there is hope for Mets fans that the team will make serious attempts to address the roster needs .
  23. A sad day for the Mets and baseball.
  24. Count me among the Dominic Smith fans. He seems like a good guy and he has obviously worked hard to earn his place on the roster.
  25. At this point, I have, for the most part, become apathetic regarding MLB. If they decide to play great, if not, then life goes on. I have far more important things to worry about than whether a bunch of millionaires and a handful of billionaires can come to an agreement to play a game that I loved as a child, but find that I no longer associate the joy of my youth. I now view MLB as more of a business, rather than the joyous game of my youth ( which I was fortunate to play to the age of 20).
