  1. The Sox are hitting rockets against Butto. Benintendi grounds out 1-3.. Mets win!!!
  2. Butto not exactly fooling the White Sox hitters.
  3. Well, it will be Butto as Alonso K's again on pitch well out of the strike zone.
  4. Need a two out hit from Pete.
  5. I was trying to think of who would go in the 9th. Figured it would be either Butto or Garret.
  6. De Los Santos line thus far onight. Walked Lindor. Picked Lindor off. Single by Nimmo. Now walks Vientos. Facing Alonso with 2 on and one out.
  7. They took a while, but they got it right. De Los Santos did his Peterson impression and picked Lindor clean. I was amazed that review took so long.
  8. Matre with a RBI single to right.
  9. Winker with a 2 out single to drive in Lindor.
  10. IThat makes sense. I couldn't watch the game so I can't see who is/was warming up. Still, a little surprised they had him pitching for the 4th straight game.
  11. Glad it worked out for Diaz and the Mets. In other games of importanc to the Mets, the Braves and Padres each won today. Diamondbacks trail the Dodgers 5-3 going to the bottom of the the 3rd inning.
  12. Why Diaz now. This is his fourth straight game over a 5 days span. If Stanek or Young can't be trusted to get 3 outs against the worst hitting team in MLB, then when can they be used? Are they hoping that Diaz will work through his problems and gain confidence? I don't quite get it.

  14. =kcmets post_id=167608 time=1724626762 user_id=53] Season over. Mark the date... August 25th.
  15. They are basically a flawed team. They have pretty good power, but far too few hitter's that can be counted on to deliver with RISP. The starting pitching lacks an ace (w/ Senga out), Severino and Manaea have been pretty good, but the rest of the rotation is too inconsistent or unreliable. The bullpen has been disappointing. Even if by some miracle they made the playoffs (which I really don't see happening), I would expect them to be knocked out in the first round. They just don't have the starting rotation to match most good teams in a short series.
  16. Unfortunately, hitting with men in scoring position is not exactly a strength of the Mets. Not tht it really matters as Merrill just takes one deep to right for a Pdres walk-off.
  17. Saurez was throwing some serious heat, most of it on the black, in the 9th.
  18. Hell of an effort by Lindor on Bogaert's grounder in the hole, but his throw was just a little too late.
  19. Walks kill. Just like that it's all tied up.
  20. Ahead 1-2 to the #9 hitter and he throws 3 straight "no doubter" balls to bring the tying run to the plate.
  21. The Hot Corner wrote: Never been a Pete Rose fan, but can you imagine the reaction to Machado lack of hustle if Rose was his manager. Pete might have had a bet on the Padres to lose ,so hard to know I was thinking that once Rose got off the phone with his bookie, he would have really tore into Machado. You're right it depends on who Rose was betting on.

  24. [bIGPURPLE]Big win. Nunez looked sharp. His slider was nasty. Go get'em tomorrow.[/bIGPURPLE]
  25. [bIGPURPLE]David Peterson coming through BIG when the Mets needed a solid outing from a starter. [/bIGPURPLE]
