  3. =metirish post_id=169957 time=1726270458 user_id=72] Won't be long now they'll be taking the field like F1 and Nascar drivers
  4. He still brings speed. If he is good defensively, he can be off help, particularly if Lindor (heaven forbid) has to miss some time due to his back.

  6. I would agree with Lunchbuckets assertion. Shortstop and second base generally handle more chances in games, which is a big part of why defense a strong defense "up the middle" is important. However, an error at third base is much more likely to result in multiple bases.

I thought Vientos would hit some dingers but was one of those hitters who would get himself out too often, striking out a lot and get dominated by good pitching. Also I though he would kill us defensively at third base. I drank the same Kool Aid you did regarding Vientos.
  9. Maton with a stress free save.
  10. Vanover definitely likes the high strike.
  11. It will be Maton for the 9th.
  12. Whew. Devers hits a soft grounder to McNeil to end the inning. Way more anxiety than I wanted in that inning. We need a run or two to reduce the stress in the ninth.
  13. After getting Duran. Young suddenly loses the strike zone. Walk and hit batter brings the Red Sox best hitter up. Wild pitch moves the runners into scoring position.
  14. =Fman99 post_id=168499 time=1725325779 user_id=86] This umpire SUUUUUUUCKS
  15. Nimmo scared me on that Devers line drive right at him. It fooled him for a moment, but he was able to recover and make the catch to end the inning.
  16. Just noticed that Jarren Duran has a rather unusual grip on the bat. He interlocks the pinky of his top (left) hand between the index and middle finger of his bottom (right) hand. Similar to golf grip.
  17. Padres currently leading the Tigers 1-0 through 7.
  18. Alnso with a beautifal stop of a hot shot down the line. Then he hit Severino with a perfect throw to first. Alonzo's defense has improved immensely over his career.
  19. I think Duran surprised Marte there. Marte's throw was pretty relaxed (getting the ball in) rather than his usual gun when attempting to throw a runner out. Duran damn near made it.
  20. Okay, his inability to do much meaningful. I mean, he did a few meaningful hits, but he was still stalled on the interstate when the Mets cut bait. A broken clock is correct twice a day, but the rest of the time it is pretty useless.
  21. #4 - John Franco #5 - Mackey Sasser?
  22. That is a very interesting picture. Basically, MLB players playing sandlot baseball in their future home while it is being built.
  23. and Vientos strikes out to end the 8th. The Mets have 15 strike out in 8 innings. Hard to win like that.
  24. At least Inglesias put the ball in play against Berroa. It was an out, but at least he put it in play.
  25. #3 - Kevin McReynolds
