  1. They had a huge rack of SCOOTER 30 shirts right in the front of the team store today.
  2. On our way soon. We'll be in 335.

  4. Whoa. Had no idea. Good for him.

Thinking about taking a vacation day and bringing the kiddos. I'm going to be there. D-Dad will be hanging out with business associates. Would love to have the chance to chat with you guys instead! Looks like I can get three in 502 for $30, including fees. Might just do that. I'll let you know.

  9. Vic Sage wrote: l could live with a platoon/rotation of Cabrera, Flores, Reyes and Rivera at 2b/3b next year. They're all useful players with specific strengths and, with Rosario at ss and Smith at 1b, could be a solid IF. And ditto for Cespedes, Conforto and Bruce in the OF (backed up by Lagares and Nimmo), but we definitely need an upgrade at catcher. RRivera is an adequate backup, but this should be it for d'Arnaud. He has move lives than a cat, but how many chances does he get before we move on? I agree with this, actually. This isn't bad. I don't know what kind of realistic catching options are out there, but it's worth exploring.
  10. One of Irabu's first American starts came in Rochester when I was working for the radio station there; the scene that day was unreal.
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: They might be able to trade him for Oswald the Rabbit. Oswald the Rabbit would probably have provided more value than, say, Tommy Milone has.
  12. We saw someone fall out of the stands at a Ducks game many years ago. Still gives me the shivers.
  13. Bruce is under contract. There's not much he can do. And he seems, by all accounts, to be a good dude. But at the same time, he's 30 and is going to want to make a lot of money this offseason, and he's going to have a hard time doing that being a fourth OF, even when we do win the World Series.
  14. Just being a racist rabble-rouser is way easier than being a sentient human being. Fuck Gottlieb.
  15. *Wright. Can we get him back on the field for one more farewell before the season is out?
  16. Because it's entirely possible that it was the best offer they got? All we know is what the end deal was. We have no idea who's actually on the table.
  17. Man, good thing we don't play the Dodgers any time soo---SUNUVABITCH
  18. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Duda is still a free agent after the season. There's no certainty that he'll still be with the Rays in 2018. BRING HIM HOME, SANDY
  19. Sonny Gray to the MFYs, apparently.
  20. G-Fafif wrote: Intellectually, I understand Sean Gilmartin pitched for the 2017 Mets, and I remember Sean Gilmartin pitching for the 2017 Mets...but it doesn't seem like Sean Gilmartin pitched for the 2017 Mets. If "When Did Sean Gilmartin Pitch For The Mets?" was a trivia question, I'd answer something like "...2015ish?"

The thing with Duda back then -- and bmfc mentions it in the first reply -- is that nobody thought he'd be anything defensively, and basically a lefty Kingman at the plate. Clearly he became way more than that.
  23. Ceetar wrote: Sewald seems to have the most favorable numbers, so I'll say him unless it's mostly lefties and then use Blevins. Agree. Sewald is the answer for now.

Grandyman has been a terrific Met and it's hard to imagine a worthy pennant push for this group without him but seeing as that's next to impossible, another team would surely like his power, OF versatility and exemplary veteran-leadershipiness for a push. The Cubs? Maybe a post-deadline dumperoo Absolutely. Grandy has exceeded every expectation I had, and I would love to see him get another shot at a ring. Maybe he'd even be wiling to come back next year.
  25. Edgy MD wrote: Both Wild Card leaders lose today, so the Mets gain a game on each. Giants helping us out by TCB against Pittsburgh, too. I'm just saying, we're only a game and a half out of being three games behind the team that's only four and a half games out of the last wild card spot. Anything can happen.
