  1. Saw that Walker may take the QO or better. What I don't quite get is he could have played through his injury during the critical final month for the Mets. He chose to have surgery right away as if to project his brand as an FA rather than helping the team.
  2. We need Bart. You just know he will be our number 2 at some point. Out of Harvey deGrom and Matz I would be happy if one came back and ecstatic if we 2 or 3 made it back. Wheeler? I hope he saved his money.
  3. Competition there will be. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/520450/yoenis-cespedes-opts-out-of-mets-contract?ls=roto:NYM:topheadlines
  4. Is this worth arguing about? Geezuz I'll Thats Terrific" largely because of the photo of Piazza and Seaver.
  5. We may need to cover for deGrom Harvey and Matz.
  6. I am going to guess some AL team offers Ces something like 7/200 knowing he can DH. I wouldn't put it past Texas or Anaheim.
  7. If the three pitchers don't come back and the FA's to be depart we may be back to square one.
  8. Francisco Rodriguez is the first Met bullpenner to have a domestic issue. In the locker room I believe. He skated.
  9. Kenley Jansen was 47-47
  10. Testing for drugs of abuse is not administered randomly, but on a basis of reasonable cause. If one of the HPAC panel members has evidence that a player has used, possessed, or sold banned substances in the last 12 months, they call a conference and discuss the evidence with the other members. If a majority vote to test the suspected player is reached then testing will take place no more than 48 hours later. Drugs of abuse include natural cannabinoids (e.g., THC, hashish and marijuana), synthetic THC and cannabimimetics (e.g., K2 and Spice), cocaine, LSD, opiates (e.g., oxycodone, heroin, codeine, and morphine), MDMA (ecstasy), GHB and phencyclidine (PCP). Schedule 1 testing is not mandatory.
  11. Wtg Grandy. Your selfless acts have been noticed.
  12. Analytics trumps common sense.
  13. I don't see anything wrong with offering Ces 5/125. He is a fan favorite and a player that can carry a team on his back. Please sign him Sandy.
  14. The only questionable I see is Duda. Only Duda and the Mets have seen his medical reports.
  15. Attributing some of this win to the "Maddux" strikezone given to Kluber. He was buckling their knees anyway. Maddon, who is the crybaby now? GO TRIBE!
  16. MFS62 wrote: I agree. Keep him at short as long as possible. Edgy reminded me of a Mets-based trivia question about Hank Aaron. He played short in the Negro Leagues, but when he was in the minors, he was moved to second base. Who played shortstop on that team? Later Good old Felix Mantilla.
  17. I know KC. Sometimes I wonder what the millions paid to marginal players could do for the world. But, thats true of showbiz and other stuff also. Lisa's final days are coming near and I am more neurotic than usual. I love Cespedes and believe he will remain a Met after some hand wringing. I need to listen to LAMF.
  18. Can we take all the free agent money and donate to charity where it might actually be useful?
  19. Don't we need Reyes to play third base?
  20. Dear Lord that was terrific.
  21. Mets 2016 2nd round pick. Ranked #5 overall in power. http://www.nj.com/mets/index.ssf/2016/10/mets_prospect_peter_alonso_listed_among_top_power_1.html#incart_river_index
  22. No way is he back,
  23. There are worse things than being stuck with Asdrubal Cabrera.
  24. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Congratulations Yo, Noah, Jeurys and KelJo. You, too, Grimm. Thank you for breathing new life into an old classic. As they say in Chicago, it was a pleasure voting 162 times. Thanks! The "new life" appears to have been successful. There was a chance that it would cause a decline in participation, but that didn't happen. We seem to have had an increase that was sustained until about the last month of the season, when the Mets started playing well and voters, apparently, stopped paying attention! Either way, I'm satisfied that this will be worthwhile continuing into 2017. I believe I kept up. Its a matter of pride. You missed two games: May 23 and July 28. Next year I am giving 6 points only to the player who did us the most good, as in the PLAYER of the game. I'm not sure what that means. Are you saying that for each and every game you're going to give 6 points to one player and none to anybody else? If that's your plan I'll have to ask you to please not do that. It's not in the spirit of Schaefer and, with so few voters, would abnormally skew the results. I'm afraid I'd have to treat such votes as extreme outliers and discard them, and I really don't want to have to do that. No sweat. I will spead it out.
