1. =bmfc1 post_id=123524 time=1682473466 user_id=73] Three losses in a row. Steve can spend all the money he has and they still started three minor leaguers in a row.
2. We know that Dom will get a tribute video. Will Trevor Williams? Jose Butto can't be recalled until 5/2 unless there is an injury. I'm going with "Tommy Hunter" and "back spasms". Yah this would be my guess - someone goes on the "least good player" injured list and Jose "I Like Big" Butto comes up to pitch, based on his last performance which was better than I expected.
3. I had a gig that started at 5:30 so it was good that you his thing was over and done before I left the house
4. A 4:05 PM start and a winning streak is just what I needed. David Peterson takes the hill.
5. A 10:15 PM start and if the Mets official web site can be believed, Joey Lucchesi will make his 2023 starting debut tonight. A 6-1 start to this West coast swing is pretty damn great.
6. Sideshow Bob taking a lot of comebackers so far
7. He's toast
8. A 9:45 start. Kodai Senga versus some shit fart.
9. Quality win. I assumed they were foogered once Max got the heave ho but shows what I know. On to San Fran
10. Max Scherzer vs GoT extra Noah Syndergaard, 3:10 start which I like, after missing the entirety of the last two games.
11. I'm glad this one was played at an absurd hour and that I witnessed none of it in real time. Probably for the best.
12. I watched YouTube TV's 23 or so "key plays" this morning. Was in bed before 10 PM so that'll have to do this week.
13. Giancarlo Stanton is going to miss time because he hit a long fly that he admired from the box as a would be HR, only to see it doink off the wall, and then tried to leg out a 2B that he should have been running hard the entire time, and hurt his hamstring. Lesson #391 from the "sucks to suck" playbook
14. Edgy MD wrote: Beyond that, whenever we use [decade in the past] as an analog, we are referencing an era that was not governed by the clock. That's right. But why bother with a clock back then when games were shorter, pitchers took about 10 seconds to throw a pitch and batters didnt use up a minute in between every pitch invoking their mantras and readjusting every item of apparel and equipment on their bodies? Mike Hargrove was the first MLB player that I recall doing the extensive readjusting of the batting gloves in between every pitch. I remember even as a kid thinking that that was some dopey shit.
15. This was a quality win, tough to win in extra innings on the road, especially when you only plate the ghost runner and nothing else.
16. =ashie62 post_id=122524 time=1681681435 user_id=90] =Fman99 post_id=122522 time=1681681101 user_id=86] I'm stuck with the home feed because WPIX and MLB hate me and I am suffering through a free illegal stream. They're interviewing some of the '73 A's alum including Reggie and Darold Knowles. It's actually a nice broadcast to listen in on.

18. Fascinating. I think he's (Baez) bad because he got paid and doesn't have any reason to try
19. =ashie62 post_id=122422 time=1681588991 user_id=90] Ron and Gary are bundled up. I am envious after the recent heat here
20. Nice that they held the Raiders to two field goals in this one
21. Good to see someone on this team finally capitalize on an opportunity with runners on base, especially after McNeil farted one away in the first inning
22. I was worried that the new balanced schedule would mean more late games but looking ahead to the rest of 2023 it's actually not too bad. After this road trip the only games starting after 8:15 PM EDT are a two May games in Denver and a four game set in early July against the D-Baggs and Padres.
23. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=122282 time=1681442225 user_id=119] Our old friend Javy Baez has been benched by Tigers manager AJ Hinch for doing a lot of stupid things. We really, really dodged a bullet on that one.
24. A 9:40 PM EDT first pitch means that even with the new brisk pace I'm unlikely to get more than halfway through this one. My son washes dishes at a local pizzeria and works on Friday nights, though, so I am usually up late enough to go pick him up from work, in the 10:30-11:30 range depending on how busy they are. Saturday and Sunday 4 PM starts are better for me.
