  2. I barfed yesterday on ATL/SF
  3. I hate Twitter, Elon Musk can fuck right off. I bounced from that site when they took my precious Tweetdeck away.
  4. ESPN reporting it as a done deal, Juan Soto to the MFYs. No me gusta

  6. Another guy with a 2022 fork sticking out of his back. I guess him and Severino can sit together on the plane.

  9. I had to look him up. He was good in 2021 and great in 2022 (finishing 2nd in the AL CY Young vote). And then last year he sucked a big fat tuna. So I don't know. Does he still suck or not? Can we ask him first?
  10. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Does he think he's an "organizational icon" in Chicago? Or the "most popular"? He definitely had some really good years with the Cubs, but only six, compared to eleven with the Expos (and two each with the Red Sox and Marlins at the end of his career.) I have no recollection of him in a Marlins uniform. I had to look that up to confirm that that was even the case.
  11. I think 7+ years at 30+ million per for a guy whose never thrown an MLB pitch is pretty ridiculous. I get that he's got good stuff but they have no barometer at all as to how it will translate on this side of the Earth. Is he literally three times better than Senga ?
  12. Yeah his numbers as a Marlin are fucklicious. I suppose he's a good guy to sign because he can go fetch a Gatorade for the guys who can hit.
  13. I like it as a one year deal. Not my money. Unkie Steve can cut bait on this guy if it's July and he's sucking big moon rocks

  15. Edgy MD wrote: The Mets can avoid the two-Japanese-stars-on-a-team issue (which may or may not exist), by going all in and signing Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani, and thereby making it three. I'm not going to say I find this idea arousing but my pants are filling up with Ham Fighters at the very notion.
  16. Three in a row. I think the first time I've done that. ⚾️ Immaculate Grid 238 9/9: Rarity: 79 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 NYM/DET - Granderson 11 FOREIGN/DET - Juan Gonzalez .5 1TEAM/DET - Al Kaline 23 BAL/NYM - Darren O'Day .9 BAL/FOREIGN - Robbie Alomar 4 BAL/1TEAM - Brooks Robinson 14 LAA/NYM - Mo Vaughn 6 LAA/FOREIGN - K-Rod 7 LAA/1TEAM - Ohtani 13

  18. I feel like today was mostly about getting a low score. None of these categories seemed super tricky. ⚾️ Immaculate Grid 236 9/9: Rarity: 53 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 BOS/NYY - Jacoby Ellsbury 9 BOS/10HR - Tony Conigliaro 1 BOS/10W - Tim Wakefield 10 SF/NYY - Randy Johnson 16 SF/10HR - JD Davis .5 SF/10W - Christy Mathewson 2 CIN/NYY - Ken Griffey Sr 8 CIN/10HR - Frank Robinson .6 CIN/10W - Tom Browning 5
  19. I'm curious who opposed him that day , score etc , I would love to have seen him pitch According to baseball reference, Marichal faced the Mets three times in 1967. A May 3 game at Shea, which was a night game, and the opener of a doubleheader in SF on June 3. Meaning this photo was most likely taken on July 4th. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN196707040.shtmlBox score here. This was a rare off day for Marichal, who gave up 14 hits and 8 runs (five earned) in an 8-7 Mets win. Runs for the good guys driven in by Tommy Davis, Ed Kranepool, Ron Swoboda, Ed Charles and Jerry Buchek. Jack Fisher got the win. Interestingly, 1967 was the only year between 1962 and 1970 that Marichal didn't win at least 20 games, going just 14-10 that year.
  20. These benches shouldn't require much coaching.

  23. Edgy MD wrote: I've been wondering of late when it was that the bench coach became the de facto first lieutenant. I feel like the Joe Torre/Don Zimmer dynamic of the late 90's MFYs was the benchmark for this relationship.
  24. Not a single action shot, just a bunch of shitty Mets looking sad that they're shitty. Abstain
