  2. I think this one is going on the DVR for some evening viewing. Exciting!
  3. Err my gerrd BASEBALL.
  4. It's racism from the heartland. Yuck.
  5. Have fun! We went last year, my first trip to PSL in 43+ years of Mets fandom. I was mostly struck at what a dump the stadium is -- I am well versed with minor league baseball, as we have AAA ball here and a much bigger park with better amenities.

  7. Starting any inning with runners on base is fucktarded. Like, DH level stupid.
  8. Just seven days until they report, a week from today. So, for the seven day mark, featuring this site's namesake.
  9. My earliest memory is being at a Mets Cubs game in maybe 1976-1977 sometime, that went an interminable amount of innings. And that I wanted to stay, but my mom and brother were all done, and we left in the 13th or 14th inning (OE: I looked at baseball-reference but could not find a Mets/Cubs extra inning game in those years, it may have been a different opponent). I remember we always used to get the single serve vanilla/chocolate ice cream cups at the game, and that that was a big deal. I remember also always bringing my mitt, even though you'd need a NASA booster to hit a foul ball up into the rows we normally sat in.

  11. My dad grew up in Flushing but in the 1950s, as a MFY fan, though I know he attended a lot of games at Shea in the mid 1960's because it was so close to my grandparents' home on 141st and 70th Ave. He really changed allegiances for good when the Steinbrenner era kicked in. So when he wanted to see live baseball, he would take us on family trips to Shea and they were combined with visits to my grandparents' house. So I've been going to Mets games since 1976, when I was 3.
  12. Ike Davis, minor league deal with the Dodgahs... not much gas left in that tank it seems. If you can't mash as a lefty in the MFY bandbox, well, shit. Time to dust off that resume.
  13. It's got all of the dignity of a clown in makeup that is also sitting on the toilet.
  14. I don't think he laid down. Pennant chase and all that. I do, however, think that Piazza tipped off all of Clemens' pitches in the 2004 All Star game where Clemens got shelled in front of the home crowd in Houston in the first inning. That's an exhibition game, perfect time to roll a guy who is a douchehole.
  15. I was thinking 1B would be a good place to slot Bruce in, here and there, until I looked up his career numbers at that position (3 games, 2 errors in 2014). Uh, sucky.
  16. For #10 I'm going out on a limb with "large breasted stripper."
  17. I figure a thread just for the latest Jay Bruce rumors seems to make sense. Nj.com (quoting the NY Post) saying maybe the Rangers and Giants have interest?
  18. First tough choice for me as these are two great action shots with non-stupid headlines. Went with Thor.
  19. We went last year and had fun but no trip to FL in 2017 in the cards for the Fman family.

I know it's not your favorite spot but Fboy and I do like the upper deck promenade seats, as long as they're on the infield. He had trouble following the game from the left field seats we had when we met up with you and D-Dad two years ago. Better seats in lower rows are also fine, as long as they're on the infield, I suppose. My only qualm is that if it's a hot day we could fry in the Promenade. But once we have a date, let's see what's available on StubHub. We could luck out and get something somewhat lower at a good price. We always retreat high enough up into those seats to be in the shade. Fboy's got the same complexion as his mother. Fgirl and I could sit out in the sun all day and we'd be fine.
