  1. Remaining citizens of the interstate: José Reyes is churning across Pennsylvania toward the Chemung-Tioga County line on I-86. Drive I-86 (overlaps on Rt 17) regularly on our sojourns to the Maryland/Virginia areas. Beautiful southern tier driving there.

Centerfield wrote: If you are feeling down today, I found this article cheered me up: http://www.northjersey.com/story/sports/mlb/mets/2017/05/03/noah-syndergaard/309182001/ Important points: *The doctor quoted here thinks 2-3 months for Noah. Which means there is a good chance we have him for the entire second half. I'm good with that. *Matz and Lugo threw off the mound and had no discomfort. This is good. We are in a pitching crisis now, but if just one of these guys can be ready in a few weeks, we just have to hold the fort until then. The upcoming schedule is not tough. There is enough talent to win until then. *Ces and Duda are rehabbing. As is Flores. I would guess Wilmer will be the first back. Duda and Ces following within a week or two. Other reasons to be optimistic: *I actually thought Harvey was better than his line showed. His stuff seems to be coming back. You figure he's going to be rusty still after so much time off. Once he gets comfortable I think he will get that confidence and swagger back. Big second half for the Harvster. *We are two days into May and Michael Conforto is still hitting! Delicious Kool Aid. Keep pouring.
  7. Wow, KABOOM AGAIN. If only the bullpen had not shat upon the mound so greatly.

  10. One game at a time, kids. Another 7:35 start, Hatt Marvey vs. R.A. Dickey.
  11. Put it in the books!
  12. Today's game starts at 7:35. No word yet on who else may have been injured since yesterday. Gsellman vs Teheran are the scheduled starters.
  13. Do I listen half attentively while working? Or do I set the DVR and watch it tonight, fresh, ignoring all social media until then?

  15. We live in a nation of busybodies, tattletales, and assorted other lifeless wonders. Do your thing and let others do theirs. People in that racket are all parasites.

  19. Get that raccoon out here, it's an emergency!
  20. I want more analysis of Scherzer's non matching eyeballs. He's an odd looking bird.
  21. Wheeler gets through 6 IP at less than 100 pitches thrown. Nice to see progress there, especially after the first inning doodie fest.
