  1. I ain't calling nothing a splinker. That shit is dumb McNutty with the rib eye
  2. We should trade for guys who don't suck. So, you know, not this guy.

  4. Wilson Ramos
  5. Roberto Hernandez
  6. We spent Mother's Day in beautiful Saratoga Springs, NY, watching Fgirl compete in the NY State Regatta (her team did well, second in her division). Listened to the last 6 or so innings on XM via Howie + Keith, in between her morning time trial and afternoon final, which, after reading this thread, seems like it was the best way to consume today's win.
  7. Aside from Baty none of them came up when needed. Tough to beat good teams that way. Tough to watch too
  8. Soto is a stud. I'm, uh, rigid with optimism about this 2025 lineup
  9. One of the names I was trying to remember re: Baty was that of Hank Sauer, who was not regarded by the Reds as a MLB hitter though they kept on giving him brief chances to show his stuff. Sauer became a regular at age 31, was swapped out to the Cubs, and hit a ton of HRs in his 30s, winning an MVP Award at age 35. Sometimes you've got to give a guy opportunities to hit when he's demonstrated an ability to hit in the minor leagues: Sauer had a .975 OPS at AAA (Syracuse, as it happens) at ages 28 and 29 before he cracked the MLB lineup. A name I know well - his number 9 is retired in Syracuse and there used to be a high end restaurant/lounge in the RF corner named after him (it's now the "Metropolitan Club" I believe).
  10. Blackout restrictions can jam themselves in their jam zones
  11. Rest days suck a butt
  12. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: That's Rajai Davis Not sure how I blanked on him. We saw him play here in town as a Syracuse Met as well.
  13. Are we counting Chili Davis? Didn't play as a Met but was their hitting coach for a spell.
  14. MEX REFERRING TO HIS NEW SURGICALLY INSTALLED VAGINA AS HIS "GOLD GLOVE"
  15. Edgy MD wrote: Deddie has one of those infinite ERAs that those old-timers in the park speak about in hushed tones. He looked pretty shaky in the recap. Hopefully he rights things
  16. I made it precisely 1.5 innings into the game.
  17. David Peterson takes the bump against some shitass in a goofy uniform. Zac Gallen, who signed a big contract and now sucks big rocks.
  18. Though he's not in the lineup tonight, this Winker injury is Baty's shot, much like the one he gave Vientos last season. Unexpected call up, after some time to find his swing in the bush leagues, and a chance to prove he's not a bust.
  19. First pitch around the same time I'm putting on my jammy jams for bed. Griffin Canning takes the bump against "R. Nelson." Which could be anybody. I legit hope to make it to the end of the first inning.
  20. Ike Davis, obviously
  21. Bobby and Ellis Valentine
  22. What a big ol meh today was Mets wise
  23. Twas a clutch AB there by Marte to extend the inning
