  1. Shout out to Vientos for his first hit and RBI. We enjoyed him in the 'Cuse this past year, where he raked often and consistently.
  2. =whippoorwill post_id=107318 time=1663197474 user_id=79] Lol I meant at the Syracuse level We used to ‘pretend' we were going to house a few Williamsport players back when our daughter was a teen She caught a few eyes (from the bullpen) when we went there for games. She did work in the Historic Bowman Field gift shop for a bit.
  3. I apparently picked the right Mets game to watch tonight (Syr Mets down 1-0 in the 6th Scherzer 2 2/3 5K 1 ER)
  4. =whippoorwill post_id=107284 time=1663181140 user_id=79] So…does Fgirl have a favorite player?
  5. Starting tonight for the Syracuse Mets. Fgirl and I will be there to watch. Pretty happy about this. Let us know how Alvarez looks. He is back off the IL and homered last night. Later Funny you should mention that. We were there last night and witnessed the HR. Better yet, we had great seats behind the plate and you can see us in the replay of the dinger that was aired on SNY. Look for the two of us left of center (me in the backwards orange Mets hat) at the 00:11 second mark of this clip.

  7. I hope they suck less.
  8. Fgirl and I opted out of this game to attend the Syracuse Mets game. They started out with a 90 minute rain delay despite it not having rained. They got all nervous about the forecast and didn't want to have to get pitchers up only to have them sit. Except for both teams were using htis as a bullpen game. So not really sure what the point of that was. We made it to the top of the 6th - and at 10:30 PM it was 11-5 Bisons. We got cold and went home. The game went until 11:40 PM. We did get to see both Drew Smith and Tylor Megill pitched. They were equally ineffective in front of tens of fans.
  9. Well that whole game was annoying
  10. We saw it happen once or twice against the Mets, this year, I feel like. But yeah, this is an odd game.
  11. Pen getting it done. Now let's see the hitters do something
  12. Yeah no me gusta
  13. Ugh wasted opportunity there and then a dinger for the bad guys
  14. Wow Atlanta came back from down 6-1 in the 8th to take a 9th inning 7-6 lead, only to have Jansen blow the save in the 9th. That's some sexy business there
  15. Braves finally lost, so, it's the back-in-first-place Mets today
  16. Yeah this is better
  17. Pitched again yesterday here in town and had another strong inning. Seems like they are priming him for some fall bullpen help. Guillorme in the lineup last night for Syracuse as well
  18. The players have officially gone on the record through their union to also indicate they do not favor the pitch clock or the shift ban. So, really, who's clamoring for this exactly?
  19. Here's some video footage of it. Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM
  20. Lefty Specialist wrote: Would have been nice to see Vientos at DH instead of Ruf and Vogelbach flailing and failing these past few weeks. This team is Archie Bell and the Drells. We watched Vientos at Syracuse tonight and he hit a ridiculous HR to deep center that bounced about 3/4 of the way up on the batter's eye. It was a blast.
  21. I think, honestly, after about 10 or 11 inches, you're, ahem, leaving some of it out on the field, if you get my meaning. (#penises)
  22. Just announced, officially. 1. An official pitch clock and penalties to batters and/or pitchers for taking too long 2. Bases increase in size from 15" to 18" 3. Banning of the shift - all infielders must start each pitch on the dirt and there must be two on either side of 2nd base I'm pretty indifferent to items #1 and #2 above but banning the shift is mad stupid. You can beat the shift by dropping a bunt down the line, except of course that no one hardly ever does it.
  23. =Fman99 post_id=106626 time=1662592969 user_id=86] Hey here's a thought. Put up a ten spot on these dirtbags
  24. Edgy MD wrote: =Fman99 in the Game 1 Thread post_id=106581 time=1662574354 user_id=86] I'd be happier still if we could score runs via a series of sequential singles and doubles, instead of just taking 27 cracks at a dinger like they've been doing. I'd encourage you to keep making wishes while you're hot.
  25. Oh man, this is the good stuff!
