  1. That's quite a jump. Hope he doesn't get shell-shocked against those Toronto boppers.
  2. Have to admit I turned this off at 8-3 and was totally surprised to find they won 10-8.
  3. Man, they don't make it easy, do they?
  4. Torres cleans up for Torres.
  5. Good to accept those gift runs when they hand them to you.
  6. Walking FFF is always a good move. And it pays off.....
  7. Oops. What's the gossip about Jim Gosger?
  8. After pitching effectively for the Mets, went to the Cubs in 2003 and gave up the 11th inning game-winning HR to Mike Lowell in Game 1 of the NLCS, thereby being at least as culpable as Steve Bartman was in denying the Cubs their first trip to the World Series since 1945.
  9. Hal Reniff's nickname was 'Porky'. And Ed Bressoud finished 26th in the MVP balloting in 1962. Unity!!!! So NOW whaddya tell your mama about Satoru Komiyama?
  10. Bartolom was the guy the Mets were REALLY after when they traded away Scott Kazmir in 2004. V***** Z******* was merely a throw-in in that deal. 2006 was a magical year for him- he had a 27.00 ERA and a 1-0 record. Whaddya tell your mama about Saturo Komiyama?
  11. Terry Collins leaves Niese in for 136 pitches in 4 innings in an attempt to injure his arm and make room for Steven Matz. Film at 11.
  12. Can we please put a hold on the 'Harvey Day' stuff right now, as well as the Dark Knight stuff? (Although the way he's been pitching lately, he may want to wear a mask.)
  13. We're so lucky to have the broadcasters we do. The team may suck more often than not, but they're always good. Mentally reading that in 'Howie Rose voice' was fun.
  14. That'll teach Duda not to sign a long-term contract.....
  15. Between them, they have more than 80 million reasons to be mellow.
  16. It's all a crap shoot. You hope for the best, but with high school guys it'll probably be 2019 before we know if this panned out or not.

The ushers will discourage you moving when a better is up and will let you move between batters. They have an exception called the 'My 5-year-old has to pee' rule which I exercised once. They're more focused on preventing people returning from the concession stands than they are with people getting up out of their seats.
  18. Nats fans have to be pretty pissed at this point. The division is theirs for the taking and they're just fumbling and bumbling. Long season to go, though I think we'd all have signed up for first place on the morning of June 8th. Unfortunately, we also know we've seen this before. Flashes of first-half competence washed away by second-half meltdowns. It's kind of a trademark.
  19. And the Nats lose. Despite often tripping over their own shoelaces, the Mets are back in first place. As they say, Amazin'.

  21. I find this promotion depressing. Sat, Jun 13 4:10 pm Braves David Wright Replica Jersey Presented By Hospital for Special Surgery
  22. Well, he wasn't going to hit .137 forever. It wasn't a bad idea, bench-wise, but there are far more pressing problems right now than JMJ.
  23. The hill didn't bother me much, but I always thought somebody would kill themselves on that flagpole one day. #TalsLawsuit
  24. Well he won the Beltran rental/Wheeler deal and the Dickey/TdA/Thor deal. As for McHugh, he was behind the Jeremy Hefners of the world on the depth chart, so no one saw that coming. His deals are probably a net positive; the signings, eh, not so much. (Frank Francisco says hello.)
  25. Reminds of meetings I have to sit through with consultants. Speaking, yet saying nothing, or saying things you already knew in different ways with a generous sprinkling of buzzwords.
