  1. Man picks up woman and her dogsled team in the Arctic in his Land Rover, drives them into freezing river, and they all drown and die. Okay, that's not what really happens, but realistically that's probably what would happen.
  2. 1984-1990. That's when they owned this town. People forget (or are too young to remember).
  3. Harvey- Ready. Syndergaard- Ready. Mets offense - not ready.
  4. Coors- invented by people who didn't bathe for long periods.
  5. Bug-eyed woman insincerely gives free gallons of gas to her 'best' friends.
  6. So.....Terry's got to get Cuddyer going?
  7. Michael Kay, Professional Anus.
  8. Lucas just pawn in game of life.
  9. Boy, I go away for a couple of hours and I come back to this? Sheeznits.
  10. Cue the 'Memories of Bobby Parnell' thread.
  11. Ugly doesn't begin to describe this game.
  12. Fman99 wrote: Lots of ball bag and ball sack talk tonight. I am enjoying it. Gary actually stopped doing play-by-play for a pitch, and we were treated to 45 seconds of dead air while they turned their mics off and laughed themselves silly.
  13. That looked bad.
  14. Adam Rubin ESPN Staff Writer Will rookie left-hander Steven Matz be available for the postseason? Mets manager Terry Collins was cryptic in pregame comments Tuesday in Philly, but seemed to hint Matz may be unable to start on Wednesday and beyond because of some issue. That would make Bartolo Colon the fourth member of the postseason rotation by default, joining Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey.
  15. Edgy MD wrote: Am I the only only one resistant to the Jim Breuer having become the Semi-Official Voice and Face of Mets Victories? I'm not sure why he should bother me so much. He never did anything to me. I'm resistant. He's like that drunken asshole fan that makes you glad they shut off beer sales after the 7th inning.

  17. What happens if any of these last 6 games get rained out? Do they just say, "Screw it" or do they do a doubleheader as home field is on the line? Because the weather's looking pretty iffy for the next couple of days....
  18. Harper's certainly been known not to hustle on occasion. (Papelbon would have a field day with Yoenis Cespedes.) But on this one occasion, I can't fault Harper for jogging down to first. Pretty much any major leaguer would have. Paps was waiting for an opportunity to show up Harper after Harper threw Papelbon under the bus in the Machado incident. It's high school stuff, except with millionaire athletes with a little too much Red Bull in their balls.
  19. Wonder who picks him up next year in exchange for some washed-up A-Baller. Because there's no way he's coming back to the Nats next season.
  20. Not just Matt Williams, but Mike Rizzo as well. The Mets should vote each of them a playoff share.
  21. lol at Syndergaard adjusting himself at the top of the stairs.
  22. Second base is manned by Howie Kendrick, long-time Angel so he knows the freeway system. Just about a week back from a strained hammy that kept him out for about 6 weeks. Having a typical Kendrick year- 9/53/.293. Solid player when healthy. When he wasn't healthy, the Dodgers picked up old nemesis/redass Chase Utley. I'd expect he'll get some at-bats, although he's only hitting .220 with the Dodgers after punching his ticket out of Philly by only hitting .217 there. Somehow, though, he gets big hits against the Mets (even this year when he was hitting like .095).
  23. Wow. Just a complete breakdown on so many levels. Sucks to be them.
  24. Serves me right for partying too hard last night.
