    Zack Greinke is 0-2 with a 7.25 ERA and 1.746 WHIP in four starts with tonight's HP umpire Gary Cederstrom behind home-plate. Jacob deGrom is 1-1 with a 2.13 ERA and 1.263 WHIP in two starts with Gary Cederstrom behind the plate.

    My 2009 Inaugural Season Daniel Murphy shirsey. Wore it in game 1 when deGrom beat Kershaw, and Murphy homered. And if they lose, I may never get to wear it again

    Kershaw smothered all that anger, I'm afraid. Game 5 should be motivation enough, but that works for both sides.

    Well, Ernie's pretty annoying all by himself. If I hear 'Iron Man' one more time, I'm going to get Robert Downey to beat him up.

Sometimes it get him in trouble ("Hey, what's a GIRL doing in the dugout?"), but usually, we're the better for it, like when laughers allow them to wander far afield into '60's TV shows or other trivia. That's where Kevin Burkhardt would be fun- he'd do something silly that Keith could go on about for innings. The Gelbs Era has robbed him of a bit of that. He's not goofy enough for Keith to play off of.

    Keith groans about the hard work involved in being a broadcaster. He'd never be able to handle the grind of being a coach or manager. After all, someone's got to tend to that English garden out in Sag.

    If they can sign him cheaply, they should do it. Wheeler won't be pitching until after the All-Star Break, and he can slot in there. He's a good mentor to other pitchers and they can learn from his unflappable demeanor (Matz especially could use this).

    After 9 years you forget the pins and needles terror of every pitch, every play. I don't enjoy it in the moment as much as I should, I guess. Even Saturday's game, which is as close to sheer bliss as it can get for a Met fan, I'm there screaming "WTF???" to Eric Goeddel in the ninth inning.

If he's tired, his control will be off, which is why I was glad he didn't pitch on short rest last night. Facing Greinke and Kershaw 4 times in a 5 game series is a tall hill to climb. Let's hope they have it in them.
