  1. They. Just Can't. Help. Themselves. PORT ST. LUCIE — Now Matt Harvey must become the MV-Pee. The Mets ace returned to camp Tuesday and pronounced himself fit to pitch the season opener, after battling a bladder infection and passing a blood clot a day earlier. The mystery surrounding Harvey’s undisclosed ailment had produced a mild panic among Amazin’s fans Monday, replaced now by a steady stream of relief.
  2. That's kind of unusual. I'd suspect there's more testing to be done.
  3. Something brightly lit surrounded by darkness can look a bit bluish. I'm guessing that that's a white LED light which can change to red and other colors.
  4. Well, if it's an addiction, they probably wouldn't be advertising that they're sending him to a doctor in New York. If it was an STD, I'd assume they could treat it quietly. So I'm leaning toward the 'Harvey got drunk and did something stupid to injure himself' explanation.
  5. I'll try my hand at the two Colorado series. I've never done this before, so be gentle.
  6. The title of this thread made me think of this: [youtube:7e59y3xt]ArHNrCvwq4c[/youtube:7e59y3xt]
  7. I think all the moving around will be a bit detrimental. .255/9/45
  8. The thing about spring training is not necessarily to compile the best overall record, but to be firing on all cylinders that last week coming into the season. They're not quite there yet.
  9. Not happening for decades, if ever. There wouldn't be any luxury boxes and sky-high ticket prices in Cuba, which means no team could make enough money to make it work. They get a lot of players from the DR, but I'm not waiting for an expansion team in Santo Domingo either.
  10. Going to see Mets/Chisox on Memorial Day, 5/30. We'll probably go to a few more, but that's the only one we've firmed up yet.
  11. Boy, he better not do that in a game that counts. Because those cheers can turn to boos pretty quickly. Play things out and then wait for the ruling, Yo.
  12. We've cut way back on sports books in the past few years. The reason being, today's superstar could be tomorrow's rapist/wife-beater/nightclub shooter. Nothing like having a book on the NFL with Ray Rice on the cover. We also have a library of every book we've ever published. I'm sure Hammerin' Hank is in there somewhere.....

It's a place where you can be in a meeting and suddenly stop and say, "Hey, you realize we're arguing about Captain Underpants!" Harry Potter helped pay my mortgage. (New book coming out July 31st, kids)
  14. Still not sold on Duda. Dom Smith, hurry up and develop. 25/80/.250. Okay, but not great. And right now, your backup first baseman is Eric Campbell. He's been playing there a lot this spring.
  15. Well, Derek Jeter IS a well-known Communist sympathizer.
  16. Boy, Bartolo really needs to lay off the junk food.
  17. I think we need to speed up the forum. Since Carl Everett believed that man walked with the dinosaurs 6000 years ago, it's entirely possible he received a magic RBI.
  18. A great read. It was fun to luxuriate in all that good stuff again. Needed a happier ending, but waddya gonna do?
  19. Overall, I'd say that them's what we kept are better than them's what we let go.
  20. Technically, it's a 'Giovany' and a 'Giolito'.
  21. I don't think a young kid should be around a major league clubhouse all the time. He did this with the Nats too, so the kid was probably 10 or 11 then. That's too young to be around a bunch of grown men all the time. Kid should be in school learning math and history rather than how to chew tobacco with Bryce Harper.
  22. And Trump's still here. He'll be throwing out the first Muslim.
  23. Ha! I was going to say the same thing about Bartolo.....
  24. A bit surprised; I guess they feel the Asdrubal thing is minor.
