  1. Watching this in DC, and boy do I miss GKR. These guys are awful.
  2. Frayed Knot wrote: I'm not sure what Tebow has done to promote 'his brand' other than live his life. He's on TV as an announcer during college football season and probably "wrote" a book or two. BFD. Keith and Ron do at least as much to promote theirs and, unlike Kardashians, none of it involves naked selfies (at least as far as I know) or updates on what they're selling or who they're fucking and/or pregnant by this week. Keith, Ron or the Kardashians didn't do an anti-abortion ad for Focus on the Family that ran during the Super Bowl. And he took a knee before it became a sign of protest. So he's not just a random guy. I don't care about college football either, but there is a certain segment of the population that sees him as a hero not because he's a football player playing baseball. And that's okay; he has the right to believe what he chooses to. But that's a very important part of his 'brand', and everybody involved knows it. If he tears it up and merits the promotion to AAA and the majors, Mazel Tov. But we'll see.
  3. A Boy Named Seo wrote: That was immensely satisfying. Wasn't it? Beating one of their aces, and spoiling their home opener, boy it doesn't get any better than that.
  4. They might need him to go for a few innings behind Matz.
  5. You know, I could get used to games like this.
  6. Wow. Massive balls by deGrom.
  7. Liking what I'm seeing. I was worried Conforto's bat would be slow, but I guess it's fast enough. And Jacob's just deGrommin' as usual. Worried about the late-inning bullpen, though. He can't use Fammy again.
  8. The review in the Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/04/sports/baseball/wheres-the-mets-phillies-game-on-facebook.html
  9. He'll stick it out and will probably get a late-year promotion to Las Vegas to goose their attendance. But he'll be nothing special. Stats are kind of meaningless with this guy.
  10. Video froze up on me a lot, and the announcing was pretty bad. Plus too much irrelevant shit, like players' Facebook posts. Wasn't worth all the trouble. Now excuse me while I chase these damn kids off my lawn.
  11. G-Fafif wrote: Novelty was swell for an inning or so. Then when the chatter outweighed the visuals, it was back to Howie and Josh. This. Jim Breuer was the straw that broke the camel's back.
  12. Yuchie probably got third-degree burns from hanging on to the rim of that soup pot like he did.
  13. This one's tough. All respect to Bill Gallo, but that's a goofy cover. The 1998 cover looks like an in-flight magazine but I think I like it better anyway.
  14. Frayed Knot wrote: Fman99 wrote: Do you let Lugo pitch the last nine outs? They did double switch him in... I'd go a 3rd inning with him (6 outs on 22 pitches). Agreed. Lugo was dealing. And of course Familia walks the first batter.
  15. I'm OK with him pulling Harvey there. Ramos not impressing, though.
  16. Keith's backyard is hilarious.
  17. With the snow we had yesterday added to the feline and canines coming down today, I'd be really surprised if the field was playable this evening.
  18. Robles. Ptui.
  19. Toughie, but I went with '94. I don't like Keith's head between Doc's legs.
  20. World Champs vs. Bobby Bonilla. Decisions, decisions.....
