  1. I went behind the paywall, and it's ugly stuff. Offering behind-the-scenes scoops (which reporters kill for) in exchange for getting drunk with him. It was a pattern and also not exactly a secret. Women warned other women about him. Have to think his future ex-wife knew, but I feel bad for the kids.
  2. I guess Charlie Blackmon could be had, too, but he's 35 and has 3 years/$50 million remaining. Solves your CF problem for '21.
  3. He could be ridiculous and sublime, often in the same inning. Getting his knee torn up twice probably shortened his career by a few years. We'll always have October 2015, Murph.

  5. =smg58 post_id=55002 time=1611840544 user_id=62] In 2015 it looked like our rotation was all aces for years to come. If anything, Matz was the most frustrating of the bunch. Harvey and Syndergaard were held back by major injuries, but Matz just seemed to stop being all that good.
  6. I'm still giggling at the thread title. I'm fine with Wilson; he's been solid.
  7. =Fman99 post_id=54691 time=1611539990 user_id=86]Well fnerp
  8. After firing Porter for harassment, bringing Bauer on might be problematic if they truly have a 'zero-tolerance' policy.
  9. The REAL home run champ, no matter what the numbers say. And by all accounts, a genuinely nice man. RIP.
  10. I'm disappointed they didn't get Springer. Cheap-ass Cohens. STOP- JUST KIDDING!
  11. =Fman99 post_id=54316 time=1611070615 user_id=86] So who's the most reprehensible Jared now? The Subway guy? The shit-ass presidential son in law? Or this guy firing off the dong photos? So many choices.
  12. Jeez. Men are stupid. How do you possibly do something like this and not think it will blow up in your face at some point?
  13. Weirdly fitting that the winning 2020 cover is a dead person. It's been that kind of a year.

  15. Frayed Knot wrote: Have we fingered the culprit responsible for the errant report? If so we should give his reporting a thumbs down and make him pinky swear never to do it again. A knucklehead, no doubt.
  16. Sandy Alderson sez that Dom Smith ain't going anywhere. If there's no NL DH in 2021, the Mets'll deal with it with Dom on board. https://metsmerizedonline.com/2021/01/alderson-doms-not-going-anywhere.html/https://metsmerizedonline.com/2021/01/alderson-doms-not-going-anywhere.html/ If there's not a DH in 2021, there could very well be one in 2022. So it's certainly worth holding on to Dom. He'll get his at-bats.
  17. Frayed Knot wrote: So all [8, 12, 15?] million "New Yorkers are welcome" and they can serve 5 to 7 thousand per day. How are they choosing who gets their dose? Lottery? Age? Rock/Paper/Scissors? Concert style wrist bands? Tent cities? ... or just the usual method of who has the best inside connections? You have to fill out a form on a Government website. Old Mole did it today and got immediate response (because he's over 75) that he is eligible to get it and there will be a next step to make an appointment. We will be able to do the same in Connecticut on Thursday. Later I've signed up for the NJ site. It was easy and I'll be waiting.
  18. New York Mets stadium to host 24/7 vaccination site The city that never sleeps is getting another Covid-19 vaccination center that will be open around the clock, courtesy of the New York Mets. Starting the week of Jan. 25, New Yorkers will be able to head out to Citi Field in the borough of Queens at any time of the day or week to get a shot, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced. “By making City Field a 24/7 vaccination site, they're stepping up to the plate for New Yorkers across our city,” de Blasio said. When it's up and running, the Citi Field site will be able to vaccinate between 5,000 and 7,000 people per day. In addition, a 24/7 vaccination site opened Tuesday in Manhattan, and another will be up and running in Staten Island starting Friday, and one more will makes its debut Saturday in Queens. Round-the-clock vaccination sites have already been operating in Brooklyn and The Bronx.
  19. Gsellman looks a bit Stroman-y. Just sayin'.
  20. Awesome title. Drury's nothing special. AAA filler, probably gets some AB's at Citi.
  21. He's my hero simply for going after the Phillie Phanatic with murderous intent.
  22. I really liked Giminez, but had no trouble letting him go in this deal. I think he'll be a good little shortstop for Cleveland. I guess Guillorme is Lindor's caddy in 2021.
  23. =LWFS post_id=53446 time=1610042159 user_id=84] AND we keep Dom Smith! Nimmo, too! AND we're still likely in on Springer and Hand and more pitching help... MY COUNTRY IS BROKEN BUT MY BASEBALL TEAM IS A BURGEONING DEATH STAR
  24. If Nimmo helps to get a legitimate #2 starter, I'll pack his bags for him.
