1. This Freddy Patek guy may turn out to be alright! The golden ratio here is out-walking the Cards, 9-1. That's difference right there between avocado toast and toast-toast.
2. I went and checked on the Mark Clark answer, at which point I accidentally on purpose spied the last guy, so I am morally eliminated. Totally guessable, though!
3. Well, I've tried to give folks a bunch of links through which they can check Brock out.
4. Mark Clark. Just throwing that out there. OE: Wait! Duh! Clay Holmes 2025!
5. The title probably wouldn't have the name "Forum" in it, but you have the right idea. The irony is that the title was meant to be deliberately obscure/ambiguous. Before there was a science to search engine optimization, we were practicing search engine evasion.
6. I didn't even know if he had a hangnail. I checked a couple of injury reports, and found nothing, so I sought the advice of the Hive!
7. This guy hasn't cracked a lineup yet, has he? What gives?
8. Exciting updates! Well some more exciting than others. 1. Carlos Mendoza's behavior early this spring has suggested he is positioning Marcus Semien as his opening day leadoff hitter (unless Francisco Lindor makes an unexpectedly rapid recovery from surgery). This is, as has been noted above, sub-ideal considering Semien's OBP is not a stat he puts at the top of his resume, but one might guess that Mendoza sees this as least disruptive to the rest of the lineup. The manager's second-most frequent leadoff choice this spring has been, interestingly enough, Carson Benge. I am tempted to conclude that this is not an alternative plan, but just a way to maximize Benge's plate appearances. Lastly, Luis Robert, Jr. is thus far an unfired weapon. He might be enter the mix for leadoff later this spring. 2. Ronny Mauricio has gotten three of the six starts at shortstop thus far. Two have gone to Vidal Brujan, and the last to Grae Kessinger. Mauricio is not only seeing the lion's share of the time there, but also has started on each of the three days that have featured projected starter Marcus Semien at second, we have to conclude that Mauricio is indeed targeted as the opening day shortstop. 3. The Pirates, like the Mets, seem be tipping their hand with regard to moving a middle-of-the-order hitter up to the leadoff spot. In this case, Oneil Cruz — who started this thread not being in the projected lineup at all. So good for him! And good for Freddy Peralta who now has a big strike zone to aim for with his first hitter as a Met. 4. Also like the Mets, the Buccos seem to be swapping their leftfielder and rightfielder. All the cool kids are doin' it! 9. So, McLean is already in beast mode. A lot of positives to take away from this game, but that may be the positivest. The Mets will probably see Imai again this spring, as they play the Astros frequently enough.
10. Gabe is in there.
11. Ronny Mauricio is the brainy answer.
12. It'll never not be weird how you need political action to get a baseball team going.
13. Only three walks today. The Cards, sadly, outwalked the Mets, 2-to-1. Carson Benge with three singles in three trips.
14. Three runs against Jonah Tong is like a month's worth. based on his 2025 pace. Bryce Conley, who was signed like two minutes ago, is one of the non-roster guys rosterfied for this game.
15. Walks for and against are definitely something to watch for.
16. I can handle a world where lions and whales have humanoid personalities. I can handle a world where cars have humanoid personalities. But a universe that allows for both is more than I can bear. And then there's a couple of hats walking around and yukking it up? That's anarchy!! Make up your mind, Disney! Is this Lion King, Cars, or Lidsville? It can't be all three!!
17. They consider the 10th and reject it, instead deciding to send all of the fans home — if not happy, then less-than-perfectly miserable.
18. Daniel Duarte and Josh Blum (up from Brooklyn) have given it all back and we're tied at six in the ninth.
19. That's what snake-oil salesmen do when they realize their three-card monte isn't working on everyone. Some grace, please.

Nonetheless, he has kept his career going in the indy leagues and Caribbean winter ball, and mostly been really hammered. Just relentlessly. But this winter, he returned to the highly competitive Puerto Rican Winter League and absolutely shone, putting up a 1.50 ERA over 24 innings while striking out 14.6 batters per nine. Lest it be unclear that the Mets are banking on that performance while tossing him a feeler contract, Mets Roster Central estimates that 159.96% of his career value can be found in those 24 innings of winter ball. Transactions, 2/21/2026

[th]Direction[/th][td90]GOING[/td90]

[th]Transaction [/th][td90]Released[/td90]

[th]Position Group [/th][th]Relief Pitcher[/th]

[th][/th][td90][fimg=90]https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2023/01/cornelia-jamdrick-2023.png[/fimg][/td90]

[th]Name [/th][td90]Jamdrick Cornelia [fimg=50]https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2019/11/curacao-flag.jpg[/fimg][/td90]

[th]DoB[/th][td90]2005-11-17[/td90]

[th]B/T[/th][td90]L/L[/td90]

[th]High Level[/th][td90] DSL (2025)[/td90]

The release of Jamdrick Cornelia stings in a particularly sensitive place, as — following the November 2023 shedding of Arlison Rodriguez and the August 2024 jettison of Donovan Antonia — it leaves the Mets with zero Curaçaoan prospects. We do not know when the Mets will finally produce a homegrown player from the Dutch protectorate, but tomorrow would not be too soon. Young Jammy (and he looks about 12 in that lone photo we have of him up above) never made it out of the DSL, though he produced sub-3.00 ERAs each of his last two seasons, so again, we are forced to conclude that moral turpitude played a part in the Mets' decision to let him go.
21. Then you are not reading and don't care about anything but attention grabbing. This is false. You suggested the forum get a new moderator and I replied that I am fine with that. This is simply a false representation. "Just because"? If the forum failing isn't a reason to change then nothing is. Gosh. I have no idea what this means or what you are accusing me of. If anybody wants to offer anything that isn't sarcastic and obnoxious (thanks, Ben), that would be lovely. I'm going to be down with the flu for a couple of days, so I won't be able to respond for a bit. Brock has unsurprisingly bailed out of the conversation also.
22. I did not ignore you. I answered quite clearly.
23. So the Brockdude is gonna save it. Right. I really think sarcasm is not going to get us forward. A little help would be preferable. And AI garbage is less than useless, cowtipper.
24. Ernesto Martinez, Jr. grounds out!! They're pouring onto the field!!! OH, IT'S MAYHEM!!!!
25. Down goes Short!! One Yankee left to get!!
