  1. It really was an opening he had that was begging for bumping Ewing up. Rock the boat, Andy!
  2. This is untrue, considering the things you write about me. But please feel free to share anything I have written that is false. I am happy to account for anything I have written here. Indeed, most everybody here is.
  3. That's not what "proving" means, and I could give you any number of examples. One hundred percent of successful MLB managers were once first-year MLB managers.
  4. He's got his name on the Mets sleeve, which is my #1 career goal.
  5. I disagree that people with no MLB managing experience have no managing experience. I also disagree that people with no previous MLB managing experience makes candidates duds.
  6. Reid Brignac managed Binghamton to a 90-46 record last season and an Eastern League title. It was one of the greatest minor-league teams in Mets organizational history, and he was named Minor League Manager of the Year by Baseball America. Not getting the promotion he seemingly deserved from the Mets, he surprised them by jumping to the Tampa Bay Rays organization. I'd like to see him get shortlisted here. A lot of the players he would inherit would be guys he has already successfully managed.
  7. I, too, have let friends know I'd very much want the Mets manager job.
  8. Their hearts really haven't been in it since then, truly. But it takes different folks different lengths of time to get over their denial. After the Cardinals, Braves, and Reds series were tempting times too. There was that day off in the middle of the Phillies series. Some guys see those days as a good time to make a big move. Others see it and hope it's a good time for a team to recover and reset.
  9. It's not Mendoza's fault? Maybe, but it's not not his fault. Plenty of fault to go around. But no, I don't believe the men on the roster are chicken shit.
  10. Important to stay on long enough to get more wins than Jerry Manuel.
  11. I suspect yes. He hammered his way to first yesterday, trying to get a hit on a tapper down the third-base line. The ball was called foul, but it sure looked like it went over the bag to me. It seemingly took five minutes for him to get back in the box after that.
  12. Krapski. Had they gotten the Baty groundout before the Wagaman fllyout instead of after, the game would have been tied. And they don't have an officially scheduled starter for tomorrow. Looks like they are hoping to activate Scott.
  13. Is there a report of him tweaking something that I missed?
  14. Retiring Swanson there was unexpected. But we get PCA'd anyhow.
  15. I'm guessing Lindor is not available to run ... ?
  16. Leave it to Weaver. And I mean Leave it, as in leave him in.
  17. The Mets haven't been running (or running well) for the last few weeks, but it's a good time for Ewing to be looking to go.
  18. It says something that the Cubs are going with Maton here. And yet, and yet, he gets the out.
