  1. Sunday afternoon's hero Tyrone Taylor is in the starting lineup Monday night. Against a righty, too. METS Starting Pitcher: Christian Scott (RHP) — 0-0, 3.45 ERA Lineup: Carson Benge (L) RF Bo Bichette (R) SS Juan Soto (L) DH Mark Vientos (R) 1B Brett Baty (L) 3B Marcus Semien (R) 2B A.J. Ewing (L) CF Tyrone Taylor (R) LF Luis Torrens (R) C WASHINGTON Starting Pitcher: Jake Irvin (RHP) — 1-4, 5.91 ERA Lineup: James Wood (L) RF Luis García Jr. (L) 1B Brady House (R) 3B CJ Abrams (L) SS Daylen Lile (L) LF Jacob Young (R) CF José Tena (L) DH Jorbit Vivas (L) 2B Drew Millas (S) C
  2. I was shocked that all three tabloids didn't go with TAYLOR MADE.
  3. Only their second intradivisional series (both have been against Washington) so far in this weird, weird schedule of a season. It may be the weirdest. And hopefully that means far less travel as the weather gets hot, but for all I know, Philly and Atlanta and Miami and Washington have had three west coast trips already too.
  4. Congratulations on the mini-run, but please don't forget to start the next IGT early.
  5. How about the Reds? They're somehow 24-23 with a -35 run differential. The Mets are only at -16.
  6. With the win, the Mets retain soul possession of 13th place in the league, and gain on the Marlins, only a half game ahead of them — in 12th place in the league, and perhaps more importantly, in fourth place in the division standings. The Phils, meanwhile, simply could not be hotter, and are tearing ass up the standings, 3.5 games behind the Wild Card pack.
  7. I think Schumann fielded it, but it stayed in his glove. He seemed to be reaching with his throwing hand when they collided, and the game was over by the time he recovered.
  8. It probably could be an error, but (a) they were coming home no matter what even though Semien looked like he would score no matter what, and (b) where they were positioned, they would have certainly been in a position to get Benge at first. So while it's not the textbook fielder's choice, I'm not sure what would have been the more accurate scoring. It wasn't a hit. I guess it could be ruled an error on Schumann, but he he wasn't getting Semien, and it's not his fault that Volpe or Chisholm or whoever ran into him. I mean, he was trying to come home, and just got his senses knocked out of him by a full-on body check.
  9. He drank a whiskey drink, he drank a vodka drink, he drank a lager drink, he drank a cider drink
  10. For what it's worth, the replay suggests Semien was gonna be in there either way. I honestly don't know what kind of wheels Brujan has. Stole a lot of bases in the low minors though.
  11. Hey! Three-man booth at the stadium and in the studio!
  12. It was a dang sloppy series for both teams. I kind of thought that that jive-ass defense by the Yankees at the end (a) wasn't legal anymore, and (b) kind of was beneath them. You're the Yankees, man. Leave the gimmicks to the Pirates and Royals.
  13. Ewing: 1-for-1, three walks, and a sacrifice. PotG is likely Taylor for the biggest swing of the season, but stealth points have to go Ewing.
  14. MAKE THEM RUN INTO EACH OTHER is a great strategy!!
  15. We're probably gonna get a good chance to see how good a bunter this Ewing is here.
  16. Wow! Weaver wasn't even available to cover that time!
  17. NINE walks. And at least one HBP.
  18. It's that vitamin he took. It made him dumber but stronger.
  19. Yankee bench burned, along with the better part of their bullpen. Just TCB here.
  20. Taylor took a vitamin before this game.
  21. Take until you are behind in the count, foolish Mets.
