  1. And Ian Desi singlehandedly erases that lead.
  2. Mets take the early lead with an RBI hit from Centeno. Josh says Cen-TAY-no and Howie says Cen-TEN-o I'm with Lewin.
  3. It seems we're getting back to that strange pattern where they find their footing on the road, get some momentum going, arrive home, and lay an egg.
  4. The Fansworth Flop: I think that was the technique that revolutionized the high jump event.
  5. White Sox coming back on Houston this afternoon as Farnie gives up two runs on two hits and two walks in two thirds of an inning.
  6. This Seth Everett guy is pretty much on point with what the story is but his delivery is sort of messy.
  7. Keith is right. The catch itself wasn't the half of it. The fact that it was dead center (how often do you see pullback at 400 feet?), and the fact that the guy usually positions himself shallow really tell the whole story.
  8. Lo puso en los libros!
  9. Miffy not finishing the job there.
  10. Looking for that first career save from Sr. Mejia.
  11. Mike Vaccaro is lighting Terry and Sandy on fire this today. Perspective, gentlemen.
  12. Holy shmoly.. Ghost of Willie Harris.
  13. Abreu is a modest revelation, isn't he?
  14. Abreu is a modest revelation, isn't he?
  15. Clippard is a nice guy to beat.
  16. Youmans. Dealt off while he was still in Jackson.
  17. Dang but that Nationals lineup gets pretty hungry-lookin' after number three.
  18. No Lagares, no Flores. New York Mets=#FF0000]Washington NationalsEric Young, LFDaniel Murphy, 2BDavid Wright, 3BCurtis Granderson, CFBobby Abreu, RFLucas Duda, 1BAnthony Recker, CRuben Tejada, SSJon Niese, SPDenard Span, CFAnthony Rendon, 3BJayson Werth, RFWilson Ramos, CIan Desmond, SSScott Hairston, LFTyler Moore, 1BDanny Espinosa, 2BTanner Roark, SP

  20. Ceetar wrote: I want to see Flores more but I'm also not convinced he's going to be better than Tejada. You don't have to be convinced to try something new. Curiosity, competitiveness and trust in your own wisdom should be enough. If you had to be convinced before making a change, things would rarely ever change.
  21. I like four man outfields, but I think this one isn't working for whatever reason. Terry seems confused about it. I like Young and I hate trades. Hate 'em like they made my undies wet with salt water. But I think if they're going to trade E-Why, they ought to do it ASAP. The guy has a ton of burning, burning desire, and he seems to stew when he's on the bench. His skills are also pretty poorly designed for a bench player. He's a defensive downgrade with almost no pop and modest OBP ability. If he's not starting, he's a pinch-runner. Trading him now would show the commitment to Laggy that could help him unleash his game with all it's creative flourish, and do so without fear. It might additionally give an added incentive to Nieuwehnuis and den Dekker, either of whom is probably as useful a player as EY overall and a better fit as a fourth outfielder. I didn't even think to mention the Flores thing. This team is a butterfly, struggling to burst forth from its cocoon. It's a stallion colt, floundering in the mud. This team is Sylvester Stallone taking porno work in the months before Rocky was greenlit. Gotta push, gotta commit, gotta move on fast before you get stuck in that crap. This series begins that narrative.
  22. This is the guy that pronounces it "ROW-ark," right?
  23. Got to be a lot of pressure on Terry to commit --- commit to his outfield, commit to his bullpen favorites. This will be a narrative of the series. Just around the corner is a new conflict --- whether to stick with deGrom in deRotation, or to push him to the dePen as dePlanned. The team is mutating RIGHT NOW and there's got to be a lot of internal squabbling about which way it's gonna go.
  24. Bradley Randle cut by but Vikings, along with Lenny Randle's heart. http://vikingcorner.blogspot.com/2014/05/vikings-fans-stand-behind-bradley-randle.html?spref=tw
