  1. He's entered Pache for defense and then lifted him when his turn came around at the plate three times now (I think), so I imagine he has thought it through. The upside is it gets multiple innings of Pache's defense late-ish in the game. I assume he sees Pache as, say, a 9.5 out there, while Robert is more of a 7.8. The downside is it uses two guys to replace one.
  2. The key to getting the right Bobby Jones was to gather together all the Bobby Joneses and figure out the right one by process of elimination.
  3. Going toe to toe with LA is not for the faint of heart.
  4. By the way, big homer by Benge and some key outs by Lavender, but I'm giving the PotG to KC.
  5. He doesn't seem to want to put the forkball in the strike zone, and is having trouble getting folks to chase it. It seems to be a question of confidence and sequences. And confidence in the sequences.
  6. Big game later this evening as the Nats face Texas and our old frenemy Kumar Rocker.
  7. First time Kodai the Kloser has seen adversity. Big test here.
  8. It was always going to be a bad ending for those deals. They were just supposed to produce a championship or two in the meantime. And, well, they haven't even come particularly close.
  9. Farty, farty brain today for Lindor. I'm definitely making a thing of this at FranciscoCon this winter.
  10. That totally looked to be a DP with Bichette running but they rushed it and pow.
  11. One of the harder dives to stick in the three-meter springboard event.
  12. Cute slide, but I'd still rather these guys went straight in feet first.
  13. Laying off the slider away (good) has made Alvarez way late on the fastball (bad). He just needs to shorten up.
  14. Go, Austin Warren with his pervy mustache!
  15. Mets making a defensive switcheroo in the sixth.
  16. Nice double-play, but Machado might have gotten down that line faster if he was running backwards. Day games, man. Even the guys who dog it regularly somehow look doggier.
  17. Ron is not only an '86 Met, he's also probably the xexiest '86 Met. He learned young that public appearances can get pretty weird pretty fast.
  18. Andy Green loves getting up some Pintaro.
  19. Bob Cousy, just turned 98 10 days ago.
  20. Took until the bottom of the fourth, but the Mets win the race to the hit column.
