Where does Leiter go? And Franco?

Wow, that's one bloated September roster.

He's right there in front of you, man. Yeah, he could be called up, along with Gabriel Ynoa, Logan Verrett, Dilson Herrera, Johnny Monell, and Amanda Huginkiss.

Darrell Ceciliani limped off with an apparent hip bruise last week, amidst a two-double game. Little did he know he had a two-month injury. Join the 60-Day DL Party! Gee, that's gotta hurt.

(fman)Funny. I call mine Dangling Harvey also. What a coincidence.(/fman)

That's another reason yesterday was so hewj. The Mets haven't been tested in fire as much as some other teams much less been tested in fire and come out on top.

I don't get how the Cards have won five-10 games more than any of the other leaders, yet the oddsmakers are so bearish.

I'm sure management will be better able than us to calculate what the most likely outcomes will look like. He certainly won't be the only free agent on the market. But who knows what things will look like in November?

If he stays this good through the post-season, then few of use will have reason to quibble over whether he's really this good.

Lots of interesting subplots. [*:66b9tekf]There's just something so fucking Clemens about a guy massaging his own narrative to make himself appear to be a warrior while measuring on a daily basis what the minimum requirement is that he has to do in order to plausibly claim to be a warrior. Is he going to go all eye black today? I'd really like Harvey to grow up a little today. Nitz to the Batman stuff. [/*:m:66b9tekf] [*:66b9tekf]What about the quick pitch controversy? Is that still a bug up Zimmerman's butt? Would Zimmerman have cared at all if it wasn't for the previous quick pitch controversy? Is he just jumping on a Robles-is-a-dick bandwagon? Robles is probably scratched today, but maybe somebody else gets all quicky on them. I bet Clippard has a chip on his shoulder. [/*:m:66b9tekf] [*:66b9tekf]And where does this leave Wright? Not since the great Knight-Davis brawl has a guy been so positioned as the team's enemy when he's close offseason buds with the team's best player. [/*:m:66b9tekf] [*:66b9tekf]Duda back in this lineup. If he comes back with his timing intact, then it's all over, isn't it?[/*:m:66b9tekf][/list:o:66b9tekf]

Benjamin Grimm wrote: A player like isn't likely to be traded three times in just a few years. I dunno. Sometimes the realization that a guy won't be affordable long-term is what turns him into a hot potato, even a few years out from his free agency. Lookie Mike Piazza. But beyond that, there are always teams looking to muscle up, and when that doesn't work, deal those same folks off just as quickly. Marlins. Red Sox. Tigers.

As Gary put it though, what team adds six good or better big league hitters at once: three by trade, two by DL activation, and one by promotion? That's lengthening the lineup. It's adding Cespedes and forcing teams to pitch to him.

A 22-point decline is a season high.

Great to have so many voices in an IGT again.

How unreliable.

I don't particularly think so. Roster discussions, maybe. How many infielders, how many catchers, make sure all potential post-season players are on the roster and eligible. But they're weeks out and whoever the hot hand is could change a few times before we come to that. Like I said, Colon was dead and buried with regard to his post-season potential according to a few posters two weeks ago. Niese has every possibility to return to grace as well.

Somebody clicked an icon nobody ever clicks and put Steve's initial post under hazard lights. Pretty cool if you ask me.

And next time you're at the supermarket, consider purchasing the August 2015 New York Mets, now with more clout. "He lives and dies with his legs, No. 1, because that's what he uses to pitch," manager Terry Collins said. "He's a drop-and-drive guy. He's going to miss some time. So we're probably going to have to find somebody else." Terry Collins on Carlos Torres We might see Gee just yet.

Lefty Specialist wrote: Boy, you just KNOW Rose plays at DraftKings.com. There has to be serious thought given to leaving Niese off the (potential) playoff roster at this point. I think they're going to delay any and all such thoughts until they have to.

Should he be? Yes. Will he be? Anything is possible in the fullness of time, but a lot would have to change.

That's a real tank job by the Braves though.

Gee would need a roster spot, and as of now there is none. I'm sure if there was an emergency, they'd DFA Ceciliani or somebody. They would in an emergency but won't unless they have to. They could cut Monell loose, as his tenure is likely over, but they probably want to keep a fourth catcher on the roster as a "break glass" precaution.
