  1. If you're heading out to the park, make sure to pack all of your Huascar stuff. 2. It's a weird year. The Cubs were money in the bank a few weeks ago and have now lost 10 in a row and 14 of 16. If they can go from the penthouse to the outhouse that fast, I believe the Mets can pull off a burning tear of one win in a row.
  3. I like spotting minor celebrities at Dodger games that the broadcast doesn't pick up on. I also like watching Mister and Missus Met in home games pass by the tunnel as they cross over from the first-base side to the third-base side, happy as can be while moving from job to job. Mister usually just passes, but Missus tends to have a different sense of her professional responsibility, and knowing she is on TV, usually mugs for the camera for a second before moving on. In a season like this, the seats behind home plate tend to be occupied by less privileged classes as the season progresses, with corporate reserved seats passed down to less valued employees, and so you can kind of bond through the screen as more relatable types get a taste of the high life for a night.
  4. I disagree that that is the dumbest and most pathetic move. And I didn't advocate for doing nothing.
  5. Eleven under .500. Dffrubble.
  6. Vientos earned that 1-0 with a challenge and still swung. Benchable offense.
  7. Take a strike, young man.
  8. Minter 26 carrying more weight than Minter 25.
  9. Kenny from Baldwin. Ask for him by name.
  10. Go the other way, Ewing.
  11. Get Kenny from Baldwin in this forum.
  12. Melendy staying in there when Baty gets pulled. Mendoza grabbing at straws, but not Strawberrys.
  13. Hey, there's 1,309 — Eric Wagaman!! Striking out!!!
  14. And there he is. I thought he'd hit for Melendez, but he's replacing Batyman.
  15. If the Reds stick with Sam Moll (or another lefty), we'll get a Wagaman debut this inning.
  16. If blood is shed for blood's sake, without a thoughtful choice about what difference a particular replacement might make, that won't do it for me. Apart from the Troy Snitker, the hitting coach, none of those represent a recent addition. And Snitker has a hitting coordinator, Jeff Albert, above him. And, of course, if the owner is making decisions about the hitting coach, the Mets have worse problems than the hitting coach.
  17. I just realized Keith is broadcasting from one of the restaurant overlooks.
  18. Manaea, going in the opposite direction from Peterson, just equaled his teammate's ERA.
  19. There's also Wagaman!
  20. Gosh, that's what the scoreboard looks like without zeros on it.
  21. What would admission look like?
  22. Certainly not solace, but context on how the current game conditions are affecting others, and information on how best to go forward.
  23. Thank goodness for outs on the basepaths, or that first inning might never have ended.
  24. Man, look how bad all the vet starters on the Padres are hitting.
