"Just about any fly ball to right field here has to be considered 'deep'." — Howie Rose

If nothing else good can happen going forward this year, we can do worse than Rosario reversing course and establishing himself as the asset he mostly hasn't been.

It's raining beakers and test tubes here in Baltimore. Some hail, too.

FREE JACK REINHEIMER!!

My guess is that it's the lineup from the game that was originally scheduled, then postponed.

So then we need all those to happen ... plus: The addition of Jamie Callahan to the 60-Day DL The promotion and deployment of =#0000FF]Franklyn Kilomé The release of José Bautista The promotion and deployment of =#0000FF]Peter Alonso The release of Austin Jackson The promotion and deployment of =#0000FF]Bryce Brentz The DFA-ing of Jack Reinhemier (after his deployment, of course) The promotion and deployment of =#0000FF]Colton Plaia (because who can't use a third catcher in September?) A trade of Jerry Blevins for future interests The promotion and deployment of =#0000FF]Ian Kroll The retirement of José Reyes The promotion and deployment of =#0000FF]Cody Asche

The Mets are breaking up the red-hot 51s, but it's probably a good thing to get a big league-level assessment of Reinheimer before deciding what to do what him in the offseason. True, "Piano Man" totally takes me out of the game.

Yeah, the greater concern to me is lack of offense in general, rather than which park it manifests itself in most.

Yesterday the 51's continued their torrid stretch, playing out the completion of their previously suspended game and walking away with a 3-1 victory over The Reno Aces. In the regularly scheduled game, Vegas entered the bottom of the eighth clinging on to a 3-2 lead, before opening up on Reno with 11 circuits for a runaway 14-2 win. The alleged Aces didn't even send a position player to the mound. Drew Gagnon (7-inning complete game, one run allowed, 10 strikeouts and 1 walk) and Scott Copeland provided solid starting pitching for the suddenly stabilized Vegas rotation. Pete Alonso homered in the opener and is now at .260 / .362 / .56 // .931. Fellow hot hands Patrick Kivlehan and Bryce Brentz went yard in game two. Brentz had 6 RBI! I'd say they were the hottest team in the PCL if The Nashville Sounds weren't riding a 13-game win streak. Nashville is still 10 games out in their very-not-Pacific division, but they're somehow hotter than their parent Oakland A's.

A rainy Monday rescheduled as part of a one-game series. It may be the least-poorly attended Yankees-Mets game ever despite the matchup on the marquee.

A one-game series featuring Jacob deGrom pitching at The Post Office against Luis Severino. This the new Mets. A team that hits for deGrom. Todd Frazier is 3-for-6 lifetime against Sev. Yup, taking two back-to-back series, though the sweep was well within reach.

Is Sierra using Kate Bush for walkup music?

Kapowie by Conforto. Mets lead 4-2 with only 4 hits.

Frazier saves the lead as Keith gets a reappearance of the Lou Brock graphic.

Wei-Yin Chen's batting form makes Bartolo Colón look like David Wright.

Amed Rosario already two walks into his day. Austin Jackson looks like he could be José Reyes' more serious brother.

Starting late here. Mets just went up 3-1 on a two-run homer by José Reyes.

Wright leaves after three at-bats, with no hits. Baby steps.
