I don't think a 30-foot lead is gonna work, Amed.

Man, Syndergaard. Throw the stupid pitcher a breaking ball.

Man, Lester. Everybody knows you work Rosario with sliders away.

I guess Bautista really isn't close.

Yeah, I was thinking Clem. Zimmer doesn't work. Not Snider, either.

How can it be "not done or close" but "likely"?

A return to the Sullen Sundays of 2017. Five of six Mets minor league affiliates also lost yesterday, four of them by four runs or more. Only St. Lucie provided a measure of comfort.

Strange season. Some darn good work in Bingo, but has been absolutely pummelled in Vegas. Maybe some AAA action in Syracuse next year will help him break that barrier.

Fix't

I've come to think of that as the best Ocasek vocal.

Staying with Smith. I approve. (Not that I wouldn't be ready with the quick hook.)

Wow, 2-0 in the 8th. I guess this is what happens when two teams miss their Muffy.

If you're like me, as soon as Smitty hit that homer the other day, you were thinking, "That's cool for now, but what we really need as a .160-hitting third-string catcher!" I'm all for it. They gained on a lot of teams with last night's win.

Just as I'm thinking, "Hey, only two strikeouts all night!" Todd Frazier does the dirty deed.

Teamwork to make the dream work, here and now.

Weird, wild stuff going on with the 2018 roster.

It's like there really are two Keiths. Intense Keith and Chill Keith. The cocaine Keith and the grass Keith. The one that's like his father and the one that's like Haji. There's the guy that's really well read on a subject, and the guy that says, fuck it, I'm too lazy to get any background to support this, but here's my opinion and I'm not that interested in considering alternative views. And there's the guy who's aloof from baseball culture and doing his crosswords and second-guessing his own manager and teammates, who's smarter than them all and above them all, and there's the guy who adores baseball culture, big-egoed sluggers, having crazy drunken adventures, talking shit, and lighting up pitchers' tits. In fact, he and Davey must've been a perfect match.
