  1. Ninth-inning it, Mets! Do you look to the righthanded Nido to bat in the pitcher's spot or the hit-machine McNeil?
  2. A Met and a Jet from the same family. Thank you, Florence, South Carolina.
  3. A real stinker of a day today for Davis.
  4. Not sure why they're running Familia back out today. Lugo threw only three pitches yesterday.
  5. He theoretically could be so far ahead of the field in rate stats, that he's still could lead NL pitchers in WAR while not qualifying (or barely qualifying) for the ERA title.
  6. I suspect that Conforto may have been a better target for this thread.
  7. Chad ochoseis wrote: So what's going on in the game? Seo, Kase, CookieMom, and I are at the game, but we've been gabbing and not watching. Tell Seo-y and Cookie I said Hello.
  8. Gary is close. Jaster had five shutouts in 1966, all against Los Angeles.
  9. Smyly gets sent to the showers in true Alonsonian fashion.
  10. If you're down by two, with two runners on base, and your pitcher can't swing the bat, pinch hit for him.
  11. That sounds like it would take a package.
  12. The Mets and Braves lock up at 12:10 PM, as much of the league will be playing in the daytime to clear the evening for management to wrestle with the big decisions. Hold 'em or fold 'em. This evening's win for the Mets means the series will be neither a wipeout of the Braves forcing them to sell off nor the four-out-of-five surge that they might have hoped would really put the heat on. They may well end up standing pat, but Drew Smyly (Atlanta has a lot of skinny pitchers these days) and Taijuan Walker will help settle that bill before all is said and done.
  13. Conforto went 0-2, reaching once on a hit-by-pitch. But he will drink beaucoups Schaefer.
  14. Even if you don't think the tag beat him, the front foot was up in the air. Your man is OUT!!
  15. Oh, man, don't overturn this.
  16. If you don't send Guillorme in to pinch-run for McNeil, does he come in for Davis for the ninth?
  17. [bIGPURPLE]J-O-[/bIGPURPLE][fimg=40]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/73/Reese_Witherspoon_%2829144489784%29_%28cropped%29.jpg[/fimg][bIGPURPLE]![/bIGPURPLE]
  18. First and third and one out with Familia coming in. Right call, probably, but Riley is hotter than wasabi.
  19. Here's our Drury appearance, trying to maintain his perfect July.
  20. Look at Fried getting a trip to the plate in the seventh.
  21. Man, Fried's curve is killing J.D. A curveballing lefty is usually his favorite meal.
  22. Gotta score to win. No margin of error is no way to get through a season.
  23. Goofy that it took four hits and a walk in the same inning to produce a single run.
  24. Opposite-field Mets! The Shift-Screwers!
