  1. Manfred has also warned the union, via Tony Clark, that the players need to follow protocol including when the game is NOT going on. Or, as Angie Dundee once said to Sugar Ray Leonard when he thought his fighter was taking things for granted, 'You're blowin' it kid'
  2. So that's now 21 of the 49 runs allowed by the NYM staff so far this season that have come with 2 outs These two were after two were out and none on and a 1-2 count.
  3. http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png> Nimmo CF McNeil 3B Alonso 1B Conforto RF Cano 2B Cespedes WB Smith LF Ramos C Rosario SS Wacha P I don't think designating Cespedes as a wet-back based on his immigrant status is the right way to go here, particularly in today's political climate.

  5. At least we didn't boost the Atlanta offense with 7 walks and 2 errors ... oh wait.
  6. Why are the Braves making defensive changes? ... it's not like anyone is going to make contract.

  10. Frayed Knot wrote: We are the Mets bullpen: Give us a six-run lead and we'll just barely prevent the tying run from getting to the plate the very next half-inning. On the other hand, give us a Four Run lead and we'll get that tying run in the batter's box toot sweet.
  11. To the Braves' credit they've actually been working/talking to native tribes in their area about the name and all assorted connections to it. I'm not sure what specifically is/has come out of those talks, but it's a lot better than burying your head in the sand and pretending that the name has no influence outside the game and is no one's business but your own (Daniel Snyder).
  12. I think we have an outside shot at winning this game.
  13. Now That's the d'Arnaud I remember!

  15. =LWFS post_id=42356 time=1596242012 user_id=84] This aging veteran lefty guy TURNED on that hanging curveball! How did we acquire him? Could be quite a bargain find!
  16. Contact w/runners in scoring position!!!!! ... and it was a hit to boot!
  17. So the Braves have five two-out hits so far in this game, including four in a row and two for RBIs Do the Mets even have four two-out hits this year so far? I know they didn't over the previous two games. oe: the Mets are 13 (10 singles) for 72 w/2 outs so far with a whopping 6 RBIs: .171/.272/.236
  18. And you know this means we're going to score one -- and only one -- run here.
  19. This whole game is a disgrace. Each team brings in a reliever to hold the line in the B8/T9 innings and it takes them a combined 70-some pitches to record four outs even though no one on either side has git a ball hard yet. Mostly, they haven't hit the ball at all.
  20. Edgy MD wrote: Frayed Knot wrote: And once again nothing out of the infield Well, it seems like an hour ago, but McNeil lined to left and Davis dropped a single in front of the centerfielder. Yes, and then when it came to getting one or more of those runners in from 3rd base ...
  21. 17 pitches and Diaz still hasn't recorded an out.
  22. And once again nothing out of the infield
  23. I like Gimenez up there with a fresh count better than I liked Ces w/2 strikes on him
  24. Conforto gets two gifts on B/S calls then makes a half-hearted wave at a 3-1 pitch ... and then K's w/the tying run on 3rd and 1 out
  25. That was a gutsy dash to 3rd by the Bear. That was by no means a gimme and Pillar is a terrific OF
