Yeah, the USA/Colombia game is at 10 EDT But at 7 is a D.R. vs P.R. win or go home* match. That's a fun rivalry and a lotta ML stars game even if there were less on the line. * or, y'know, back to S.T.

I always find it interesting when a movie studio can't reconcile their promo photo with the billing order of names, in this case putting Fishburne's name above a teenage girl and Angela Basset's on top of Fishburne's forehead. GREASE famously had the Travolta and Newton-John pics in reverse order of the names.

9 - 0 USA, end of one. Yes, there are no typos in that.

California-born Freddie Freeman, playing for Canada, clearly hates America. Earlier, Puerto Rico not only beat team Israel and not only run-ruled them (10 - 0) but perfect-gamed them (though just thru 8 innings on account of the run rule).

Brandon's being very chatty in a dugout interview which is great as it's keeping Michelle on camera longer than usual.

That college ump has been suspended by his conference for what was clearly his attempt at punishing the batter for bitching about strike two.

A Thread to Wrap Around Kodai Senga's Finger

It'll be nothing ... just like Bret Saberhagen's finger. -
OK, haven't seen 'em all, but 'Great Britain' appears to have the 'worst uni prize' locked up. I've worn more interesting stuff during college intramural games that we got from local sporting goods stores.

In the US v UK game (just starting) how are they going to overcome the language barrier?
-
Team Venezuela is pouring out of the dugout to celebrate 4th Inning runs and even hits in their game vs the D.R. Definitely not treating it like an exhibition. V 3 - DR 1, Top 5

Upset! Upset! Colombia is Cinderella ... Will the glass slipper fit?!? Sorry, I got carried away. I thought that's how we're supposed to react at this time of year.

The man with the loosest neck in O.B. (Organized Baseball for you non-BALL FOUR readers).

NYY pitcher (and potential off-season NYM target) Carlos Rodon (forearm strain) joins new teammate Frankie Montas as a member of the Not Ready for Opening Day Players.

=kcmets post_id=119510 time=1678375980 user_id=53] Does anyone have the 10am game on Tubi playing?

Jose Quintana's rib deserves its own thread.

I remember the Mammoth's NY logo being Yankee-ish but not quite the real thing, so maybe an attempt to get around licensing fees as much as anything.

New Boston Red Sox player Justin Turner took a pitch in the face in a ST game today. Walked off the field under his own power but was hospitalized for observation anyway.

BANG THE DRUM SLOWLY was a good movie but the (very few) baseball scenes in it are pretty bad. Robert DeNiro might be a great actor but he's no ballplayer.
-
Test the limits of the rules now. That's part of what ST is for.

Reportedly hit 96 on the gun in today's (Sat) ST debut, so, y'know, there's that.

Mets up 12 - 1 in the 7th Two Mark Vientos HRs among the highlights.

June 6th in Atlanta. Or at least somewhere on the vicinity of Atlanta.

=kcmets post_id=119239 time=1677940574 user_id=53] Well this thankfully never came to fruition.

They haven't changed the between innings time nor the length of each pitching change (sigh). Concession business will be just fine.

Tim Kurkjian said yesterday (PTI) that, after spending an entire day at NYM camp followed by one at NYY camp, he heard much praise and not a single complaint from players on the new rules.
