I'd get Maybe 20% of these two team questions. And most of that would be from blindly guessing Todd Zeile, Rich Hill, and Octavio Dotel over and over again.
  3. A lot of high volume scoring last night as 12 of the 30 teams put up double digits runs. The night included three separate 11-10 games!!: Mets 11 - ChiSox 10 Giants 11 - Reds 10 Royals 11 - Tigers 10 Snakes 16 - Braves 13 Cubs 17 - Nats 3 Dodgers 10 - Orioles 3 Guardians 10 - Pirates 1 Twins 10 - Mariners 3 Oh yeah, and the Yanx lost again in Anaheim. Yanx 1 - Angels 5 and, coincidentally, 1-5 is also the Yanx record since the ASB
  4. And they win the damn thing ...

I was disappointed that he didn't mention one of the spearheads of that movement, dewey decimal system inventor Melville Dewey. Or, as he spelt it, Melvil Dui
  6. Arizona takes a 3 run lead (16 - 13) into the bottom of the 9th in Atlanta after raking and chasing closer Raisel Iglesies in the top half.
  7. Ya don't see 35 pitch scoreless innings too often.
  8. Nice job by Earwig. Or is it Gertwig? Or Kristin Wiig?
  9. That's quite a brillo pad that DJ Stewart is hiding underneath his cap. btw, it's currently 12-11 DBacks as the Braves come up in bottom 6th
  10. On the flip side to all those braves stats ... they're currently down 8-5 in the 4th

And on cue, the Braves put up a five spot in bottom 1st vs the DBacks 5-2 heading to the 2nd And since I know you all are on the edge of your seats awaiting the actual stats on this ... the Braves have scored - 3 runs in the 1st inning four times this season - 4 runs eight times - five runs three times (including tonight) - six runs once - seven runs once So in those 17 games alone ATL has more than twice the number of 1st inning runs (72) than the Mets do in all 90+ of their games.(31) Braves now have 100 1st inning runs in 2023

  13. =G-Fafif post_id=132069 time=1689723316 user_id=55] Francisco Alvarez (18) pulls to within 8 HRs of Pete Alonso (26).
  14. =Cowtipper post_id=132065 time=1689723004 user_id=166] Mets now leading 4-0. They'll be losing 6-4 by the 3rd inning.

  16. A 1st inning run!! That's at least their 3rd this year.
  17. Between the west coast games, AS Break, Apple games, FOX games, rain delays, and just plain old off days, this feels like it's the first SNY 7:10 start in more than a month.
  18. I celebrate every MFY loss no matter what other conditions exist.
  19. So now they're officially the last place (though still 5G>.500) Yanx as they lose and the BoSox win out on the left coast late last night. It was their second straight day via an extra-inning walk-off, this time to Anaheim in the 10th after Ohtani tied it with a HR (followed by an epic bat flip) in the 7th, The HR was his ML-leading 34th which also puts him on a pace for 60. He also leads the league in triples (6). SIXTY!! .... IN TRIPLES!! The triples part reminds me of the rime Hank Steinbrenner went crying -- to the press, to MLB, and to anyone else who would listen -- about how those cretins in the NL were responsible for C M Wang's injured foot after he stepped on home plate funny during an IL game under NL park rules. The sad part about it all is that his argument, the one where pitchers are too delicate to do anything besides stay on the hill, is the one that eventually prevailed.
  20. =metirish post_id=131984 time=1689642815 user_id=72] Win Twins is wild
  21. I think the Phils logo was meant to display brotherly love. The classic ones are usually the best: Mets, BoSox, Reds, A's, O's, Cards. And the Rangers one is pretty good.
  22. =nymr83 post_id=131976 time=1689639809 user_id=54] The Texas Gold Glove was an easy one for me, only because I'll always remember Rafael Palmiero's 1999 Gold Glove at First base proving forever how incredibly dumb most baseball writers are. He played 128 games at DH that year.
