  1. Ozzie Albies Ks with bases loaded in the 9th so the Brewers hold on to win 4-3 Braves led much of the game on Austin Riley's 3R HR, his 6th in 5 games.
  2. Gary neglected to mention that the worst stadium for sitting behind poles was old Comisky. No matter how much you paid for your seat the odds were always high of winding up in back of some guy named Kowalski or Pulaski.
  3. Gott has, ummm, not heen an asset thus far.
  4. So far in this series (just 10 innings worth right now) the Sawx have a Fenway double (Wang's wall-scraper), a Fenway triple (Casas's wall-hugging grounder) and a Fenway HR (302 ft off the Pesky Pole).
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Man, the Mets could be leading by six going into the ninth here. If they knew how to hit, sure.
  6. The only balls we've gotten out of the IF w/RiSP have been the ones thru Turner's legs.
  7. Edgy MD wrote: And here comes meaningful AB #2. And the results have been a 3-pitch K and a lucky-not-to-GIDP
  8. A shortened ballgame here this afternoon and it takes over an hour and a half to get thru 4 innings
  9. Richard Bleier was anything but rocky that inning for Boston.
  10. I have to keep reminding myself that we're not in the early innings here.
  11. And on the 12th pitch of his AB, Brewers rookie Blake Perkins Ks looking to end the game.
  12. Braves up 6-4 in the 9th Kirby Yates gets two quick outs but now walks two in a row. So tying runs on base, winning run at the plate.
  13. Yup. It would be resumed as the lead-in to tomorrow's game. So, maybe, 2 PM?
  14. Or even Ohtani. Best use of consecutive Bible books for my money is Lyle Lovett's album Joshua Judges Ruth
  15. There's never a good Dueteronomy joke around when you need one. This weekend's slate includes a 1st vs 1st clash with the Braves hitting Milwaukee. Currently 2-0 Brews, top 2nd. oe: and now it's 3-2 in favor of the visiting team, because Braves Phils, with Bryce Harper at 1B for the first time, are in Cleveland. 3-1 Guardians in the 5th Marlins are getting thumped at home by the Rox
  16. The other issue in the Vogey/Vienty debate is the the Sawx pen is very LH-heavy so there's a Really good shot of Vientos getting at least one, and possibly more than one, meaningful AB before this game is over. So it would be very nice to Not treat this as an either/or, 100%/0% situation. I think I also heard that there's more than one game in this series too, but I'll have to check on that and get back to you.
  17. Oakland: 27-72; .273; on pace for 44 wins KCR: 28-70; .286; on pace for 46 wins
  18. I have a pink t-shirt from a long ago bike ride I did. Can, and occasionally still do, wear it around. I pretty sure the real Ken (by that I mean the real fake Ken) was neither blond nor wore pink. It is a '90s movie being made in 2023 in that the '90s were the prime era for making moves based on baby boomer nostalgia topics, mainly on TV shows from bb's youth. The problem now is that even the youngest boomers are about to hit 60 as the oldest creep up on 80. Not exactly your prime theater-going audience and probably less likely now than they were 30-ish years ago to wallow in rewatching new adaptations of every sit-com, cartoon, or toy they ever watched/owned.

  20. I've heard enough from that account to know that judging someone 28 minutes into his NYM tenure indicates someone whose brain sucks as a vital organ.
  21. No and no
  22. =smg58 post_id=132251 time=1689862761 user_id=62] The Cardinals also gave the DFA to Genesis Cabrera.
  23. Yes, Rays are now sub-.500 (33-36) since their 27-6 start
  24. Braves lose -- that's four in a row plus two series in a row (finish up with ARZ tomorrow) Phils lose Marlins lose -- six straight (swept by BAL & StL) Nats lose and, as I'm typing ... Yanx lose -- that's six of seven and 5-11 in July Combine the above with a NYM win and that's like sextuple happiness!!!!!!
  25. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: ... but in the end my main takeaway was that Alonso sucks, sac fly and all. First Sac Fly of the season, btw, for Pete, a fact which seems almost fictional, but there you go. He had nine last year.
