  1. Makes these ABs the last one of the game/season for each of these hitters. Four outs to get, Schwarber and the top of the order six slots away.
  2. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Let's let Peterson go as long as he can. Particularly with LHBs Schwarber & Harper coming up this inning or next. Play our cards right and those upcoming ABs will be their final ABs of the game/season.
  3. Howie: "The Mets were famished for hits all night and Lindor just provided a feast!"
  4. Edgy MD wrote: Man, I'm giving Álvarez the squeeze sign, but I don't think he sees me, which is probably for the best. Following the WP moving the runners to 2nd & 3rd, I was thinking a 3-1 bunt try by Taylor ... but also not likely a high pct move w/JDM running.
  5. Bases loaded, none out, there's only one thing to do ... beg for a HBP!
  6. Running for JDM isn't out of the question here, but Mendy doesn't go for it.
  7. 2/10 w/RiSP and those two were both infield singles (and slightly tainted ones at that) which obviously didn't score runs. And how many of the other eight ABs were K's ... 5?, 6?, 7? Basically nothing resembling solid contact with ducks out there. Worst AB of them all was Iglesies in the 1st. A contact guy with great numbers off Suarez takes a 3-pitch K, all swinging, on pitches not close, more not close, and even-more not close.
  8. Back to back shutouts for the Tigers gives them a 2 games to one lead. So among the division winners this year. - Houston is gone, Milwaukee is gone - and the Dodgers, Guardians, and Phillies are all on the brink The only division king not on the brink are the Yanx and they could be before the night is over. Good thing all those teams had home field advantage, eh? (Combined 4-7 so far)
  9. Like his counterpoint Bohm earlier in his career, Vientos needs to learn how to not hit the panic button on defense.
  10. That sort of thing went on for years in the NFL where allotments of tickets teams received for the SB mysteriously wound up in bulk in the hands of shady ticket brokers leaving dealing with them often as the only avenue for a regular fan to score one. I seem to remember Georgia Frontierre being involved in one such scam but don't remember the details and nothing was done about it anyway except maybe to make sure the evidence stayed more hidden in the future.
  11. Just what baseball needs: a higher strike out rate and fewer balls put in play!!
  12. Also, MLB isn't going to subdivide their audience by putting a majority of their games up against one another, nor would the networks that paid big bucks for them agree to such an arrangement. Of the eight teams still playing there are two in the Pacific time zone, one in Central, and five working on EDT. So that's essentially three games on pretty much simultaneously and the fourth on at a time too late for the most of the country. That's not showing your product, it's closer to hiding it.
  13. Tiant used to smoke post-game cigars (including in the shower) that were big enough for someone to hit .300 with.
  14. So the AL sked for this round goes like this: Game - Off Day - Game - Off Day - Game - Game - Off Day - Game Three days off in an eight day span. Just like the regular season.
  15. =Fman99 post_id=174837 time=1728430020 user_id=86] I'd have traded two runs for the out if you offered it to me ahead of time
  16. Not to be Negative Nellie here but you hope they don't need the potential extra runs that Pete just squashed.
  17. What was that, an eight pitch inning? He's still under 90 pitches thru seven and 90 is a pretty good number for six. I'm not pulling him.

  20. You can get hos to make you pizza?!?
  21. Stott and Marsh sit vs the lefty
  22. 5 - 3, 2 outs Jon Berti (yeah that p.i.t.a. who used to drive us nuts when with the Marlins) singles. Single Berti, so tying run at plate ... but he GOs and it's a 4 - 2 KCR win!!!
  23. Volpe: GO, 1 out
  24. Leadoff HR, Jazz Chisholm
