  1. Jason Heyward just released by San Diego [.176/.223/.271 in 95 PAs]. You wonder if that's it for him after 16 seasons even though still 'only' 35 y/o (36 in Aug)
  2. At least we're not going to go 0-14 vs ATL this year.
  3. And now Pintaro walks his first hitter so he's already up to speed on the program too.
  4. Yeah, as nice as McNeil's catch earlier in the game was, this one was a lot tougher ... and yet also much smoother.
  5. Nice little day game match up in Milwaukee this afternoon. Pirates with Paul Skenes on the bump hooked up against the Brewers featuring rookie Jacob Misiorowski. Misiorowski -- a 23 y/o, 6' 7" righty, a 2nd round pick out of that baseball powerhouse of Crowder College in Neosho, MO -- now has allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over his first three ML games (16 innings). He wound up with his 3rd W in 3 games as the Crew chased Skenes after four IP for the shortest outing of his career. 4-2 Brewers was the final in front of a mid-week day game home crowd of 42,000 Obviously it's still too early to know what Misiorowski is going to become, but it would be good for the NL Central if those two became a 'must see' match-up on a regular basis over the next few years. Y'know, before one or both leave for one of the coastal teams via FA-gency.
  6. I flip over to the Yanx game, see that they're up 6-1 and figure, 'at least Cincy won the first two cuz the Yanx have this one in the bag'. Then I change back to the Met game and think, 'C'mon guys, 6-1 is a very shaky lead'!
  7. Waddell walks his leadoff hitter so he's a 'True Met' already.
  8. And it's a Bugs Bunny Bat-Around!!!
  9. Into the Braves pen, but they've held NYM bats to just one walk (vs 16 Ks) in 12.1 innings this year. Not sure how many Braves the Mets pen has walked through 5+ games but I think the number has a comma in it.
  10. Gotta keep tacking on here. We've had precious few leads lately and the ones we have had usually weren't big enough to last.
  11. Mauricio do have a quick bat inside.
  12. Three innings (actually just 2-2/3) three walks so far for Holmes. Sounds about right on pace for the NYM staff lately. Good thing none of this ever comes back to bite us.
  13. Will be seeing the Mets at Camden on 7/8 (Yards, not New Jersey)
  14. Oh-and-Five so far vs ATL, but they're running out of elite pitchers to throw at us so maybe that's our break. This will be the second ML start for Didier Fuentes after losing his debut vs Miami on 6/20 with 4 R on 6 Hits and a walk thru 5 innings. 20 y/o (just last week), R/R, 6' 0"/170 from Tolu, Colombia. In typical Braves fashion he was sped through the minors and deemed ready for MLB (at least for now) after three starts at A ball, five more at AA, and then one at AAA this season. Clay Holmes goes for the good guys.
  15. =MFS62 post_id=196269 time=1750859381 user_id=60] He should be banned from the park forever.
  16. Maybe if Thor shows some sort of return to form while with the ChiSox it'll lead to an opportunity with a major league club. couldn't resist
  17. BASE HIT AND THE REDS WIN!! They've taken the first two of this series and 12 of 17 overall. This makes me feel a little bit less shitty and hate the sport of baseball a little bit less.
  18. Yanx plate one (without a hit) in Top-11 Reds answer back and now have bases loaded/no outs w/former Dodger Gavin Lux to PH Oh yeah, and Elly de la Cruz in the guy on 3rd. Yanx going to a five man infield The Reds can't possibly NOT win this one, can they?
  19. Reds also don't score in the 10th. This is the Reds 8th extra inning game this year including two 11 inning games, so it's their 10th inning batting. They've lost all of their first seven XI games and have scored ONE run in total by going one-for-28 in 10th or 11th innings. I didn't think that was even possible.
  20. Checking in on some actual competitive games being played tonight: Judged just popped out with 2-out/bases loaded in Top-10th to keep the game tied in Cincy. Reds will send 9-1-2 to the plate trying to score the ghost runner. I'm only watching this game because I couldn't find and other major league games involving a NY team.
  21. One week ago today: Frayed Knot wrote: This week has seven to ten game losing streak written all over it. Or ten of eleven, with twelve of thirteen looking very likely.
  22. Top-6: They start four pitch walk B-6: We start three pitch K
  23. btw, the next run we score off the Braves bullpen this year will be our first.
  24. Five runs, Three hits (2 out of the infield), 52 pitches (essentially 3-1/2 innings worth)
  25. Tie game and now the GOOD hitters are coming up. Nick Allen, 3-3 on the night, is a .220 hitter.
