  1. Mauricio and Lindor starring in the remake [FIMG=200]https://resizing.flixster.com/QesBs-3TFdPnlV7dri_HMsvbAk8=/206x305/v2/https://resizing.flixster.com/-XZAfHZM39UwaGJIFWKAE8fS0ak=/v3/t/assets/p7563_p_v13_aq.jpg[/FIMG]

  3. And that's why Lovelady is no tramp.
  4. Too bad for Montas cuz he was on a very low pitch count for five+ innings. No walks, 5 hits, but four of the five scored (and the fifth one still might)
  5. Three cheapies = Two runs Vientos's indecision not helping the cause.
  6. Let's run Rodon's ass outta here. OTOH, the Yanx are at least as skittish about their bullpen as the Mets are these days. So in the recent series with Toronto, Will Warren coughed up eight runs in the first and Boone stuck with him for four more innings.
  7. Maybe it's just me, but I enjoyed today's 1st inning a bit more than yesterday's.
  8. So, iow, those predicting a Brandon Sproat start on Sunday seemed to be totally unaware that he was scheduled to start on Friday therefore leaving ZERO chance he would be called up for a ML start on Sunday even if he pitched well (which he hasn't been doing recently). I think this is why I pay no attention to what 'the internet' thinks is going to happen.
  9. Ready or not we're doing this again tomorrow afternoon. This time it's 4:10 listed as the scheduled face-off time. Lefty Carlos Rodon, who's been quite good this season [18 starts, 2.95 ERA, 1.00 WHIP] will go for the Yanx Lefty Frankie Montas, who's been mostly not available and quite not good when he has been vertical [2 starts, 9 innings, 6 runs, 10 hits, 4 walks] gets the nod for the Mets Not sure who else will play since, if the next 21+ hours go like most of the last few weeks have, each team will make at least four roster moves between now and then. They may each even sign one of the players that the other team releases between now and sundown so be careful who you call a communist/Trump supporting/P-Diddy groupie during the heat of the moment because that guy may be on our roster by the time we wake up.
  10. Considering that we had no starter today, no bullpen to speak of, and were down 2-0 about 36 seconds into the game, I'd say things worked out rather nicely.
  11. If the Yanx tie it, can we activate Matt Franco for the bottom of the 9th?
  12. If not Garrett, who?
  13. Fire the 2nd base coach!!!
  14. Any more addition by subtraction and we'll have a shot at keeping the opponent under double digits. Not mentioned anywhere that I can see, Jose Butto joins the conga line on the IL with an issue Mendoza refused to elaborate on. As a result, someone named Chris Devenski is currently on the team.
  15. Yanx will throw ex-NYM Marcus Stroman who will be throwing his fifth start of the season and only his second since early April. I think he was out with strained neck tattoos. Mets will be throwing whoever they pick up off the streets on their way to the park. Also, almost certainly no Stanek or Diaz today as both are coming off back-to-back outings. 3:10 start on a day where anniversary #250 is certainly getting a whole lot less hype than did #200
  16. Quickly switched over to the Yanx/Jays game with the Jays up 6-5 bottom 8th Or at least they were until Toronto got a 2-out single followed by a 2R HR by George Springer who has absolutely been killing the Yanx all series (4 HRs, 11 RBI). So now they need to close out an 8-5 lead in the 9th for a four game sweep and sole possession of 1st in the AL East
  17. First series win since the sweep against the Nats June 10, 11, 12
  18. Oh man, I'd be bitching and moaning if that overturn went against us!

  21. That ball caught Vientos rather than the other way around.
  22. Z-Pop. Finally the long-awaited boy band craze from Zimbabwe makes its way to NYC!
  23. Those are a tough three hits to go out on if you're Quintana. IF single, stick-bat-out single, seeing eye single
  24. Even though he's not giving up hits, it's still three walks to the first 12 batters for Peterson. Mets pitchers tops in the NL in walks and 3rd overall (ahead of only LAA & CHW). 325 in 87 games (3.74/G) coming into tonight.
  25. It's also why the mantra from Rose supporters of, 'Well he only bet on his team to win', holds no water with me.
