  1. LSU gets a CG 1-0 shutout to take Game 1 of the CBBWS over Coastal Carolina (which, as it turns out, is in South Carolina ... that would have been my second guess).

  3. =ashie62 post_id=195893 time=1750553698 user_id=90] No[t] your ball Nimmo
  4. The booth thought that ball was going foul because they (and the camera) followed Castellanos ... but I think he merely mis-played that one.
  5. That was Alvarez's 28th hit of the season. 23 of them are singles [3 2Bs, 2 HR] ... and five of those are infield hits. His IsoP number [slg - BA] is under 100. mlb avg this season is 153
  6. Lower part of the Philly lineup due up in B-6. Canning might get another inning although with a short leash.
  7. The Mets last [CROSSOUT]nine[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]ten[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]eleven[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]twelve[/CROSSOUT] Thirteen HRs are solos. This is a hard job, folks. But someone's got to do it. Also during this stretch of solo HRs, the Mets have only scored seven runs via non-solo HRs.
  8. The Mets last [CROSSOUT]nine[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]ten[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]eleven[/CROSSOUT] Twelve HRs are solos. I can do this all night, folks.
  9. The Mets last [CROSSOUT]nine[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]ten[/CROSSOUT] eleven HRs are solos.
  10. The Mets last [CROSSOUT]nine[/CROSSOUT] ten HRs are solos.
  11. The Mets last nine HRs are solos. McNeil's leadoff 3R in the 1st inning nine days ago was their last non-solo HR
  12. Remember that full-out belly flop Chris Sale did to field a Soto bouncer for the 1st out of the 9th inning in Wednesday's game? No? Well probably many of you had quit watching by that point but it seemed like a slightly unnecessary risk at the tail end of a 5-0 game, one which Sale would wind up leaving two batters later still one out short of a CG. So anyway, turns out he broke a rib on the play and is now IL'd. All of which means we won't have to face him next week. If I actually believed in Karma I would attribute all this to the Braves rearranging their rotation in order to get him to face the Mets, but it is what it is no matter what you believe.
  13. But at least we have two solo HRs!! Both games we've been in during this losing streak have had the Mets scoring consist mainly of two solo HRs. Runners on base? Nah, there it's GiDPs away!
  14. I'm gonna have the radio on and be just killing time.
  15. Does Chavez get credit for the players who have improved their hitting this season [Pete, McN,Lindor] or just blame for the ones who didn't? Using secondary coaches as scape goats is a lame exercise most of the time. 'Hey, let's blame all those we have no emotional attachment to!'
  16. Anyone else have the feeling that when [CROSSOUT]the season's[/CROSSOUT] next week is over, the Mets will be behind the Braves in the standings? Fixed it for you.
  17. And so he's the latest to hit the IL Daniel Nunez, c'mon ... up!
  18. Scored in 4 innings out of 27: 1, 2, 1, 1 Only one of those four came after the 2nd inning of a game.
  19. In innings 4 thru 8 the Mets have gotten two balls out of the infield ... both easy fly outs. But, don't worry, it's not like we face Zack Wheeler tomorrow or anything ... oh wait, we do.
  20. No, I don't want to talk about this yet. It's not until July 13 - 14 anyway. But seeing as how mlb.com has a 1st round mock up, I just want to take note of the list of first names of guys projected to be selected just in the first 27 picks. Over half have names I bet you haven't used in the last week ... or quite possibly ever. Kade Aiva Kyson Kayson JoJo Gavin (2 of them) Steele Wehiwa Marek Jace Gage Kruz Slater As far as I know, none of Kyson, Kayson, Kade, or Kruz are related to Roger Clemens But at least none of these guys are likely to wind up on the Mets as the payroll situation pushes their 1st pick to somewhere around #567 overall. And btw, the guy Kruz, is Kruz Schoolcraft, a LH pitcher out of an Oregon HS
  21. Wait, you just missed a 3-1 GO where no pitchers were injured!!!
  22. 2nd & 3rd / 1 out for a team that hasn't hit it past the pitchers mound in three batters. And now loaded, in part thanks to walking guys on three pitches!
  23. 16 walks in 22 innings this series
  24. So far we are surviving this game. Not too Kahnfident we will continue to do so.
