  1. Elvis Costello turns out to be partially correct as only some of the Angels are wearing red shoes.
  2. Pct of games played by Anthony Rendon, 2021-25: 27.4% [205 played out of 748 team games]
  3. Multiple two-out hits and RBIs?!?!?! [FIMG=400]https://cdn.theasc.com/Butch-Cassidy-Newman-and-Redford.jpg[/FIMG] Who are those guys?
  4. That was a very nice AB even before the big connect.
  5. It's not like Lindor has been hitting in bad luck during this stretch. Lots of Pop-ups and Ks
  6. Schlittler (for the Yanx) vs Scherzer in Toronto tonight. Consonants Ahoy!! (18 combined letters, 4 vowels) Or, as Nixon's old braintrust (Haldeman, Erlichman, Kissinger) once got labeled: The Teutonic Plague (alternately: The Berlin Wall) 3-1 Yanx in the 3rd via a Jazz Chisholm 3R 1st inning HR
  7. Third 'City Connects' in a row?!!? Boooooo
  8. 45 y/o Rich Hill, who pitched in four games (3.2 IP) last season for Boston and in just ten (5 starts) in 2023 for San Diego, has signed with the Royals and will pitch tonight. KCR will be his 14th different club and he will face one of his former employers (because of course he will) when the Royals face the Cubs in about an hour. Can you name all his teams? Of course you can't, because he probably can't either. CHC, BAL, BOS, CLE, LAA, NYY, =#00BF00]BOS, OAK, LAD, MIN, TBR, NYM, =#FF0000]BOS, PIT, SDP, =#0000FF]BOS [1st time=#00BF00]2nd time =#FF0000]3rd time =#0000FF]4th time]
  9. And now he belongs to us again. Sounds like he'll be back tomorrow to replace Herget who'll likely get a ticket to SYR following his contributions tonight.
  10. Cubs are said to be in on the hunt for Suarez.
  11. It brings the game to a city that's not within 300 miles of any ML city potentially exposing the game to some who have never seen a live ML game, and does so in a state where possible future movement/expansion is possible.
  12. There's gotta be a decent amount of money for the players/orgs involved here cuz how else do you convince a bunch of guys from the DR & PR to play in NYC in mid-November.
  13. Heard Kurkjian saying the other day that the DBacks are the big wild card in this year's trading deadline. They currently sit right at .500 (50-50) and 4.5 G out of the final WC slot but with StL (-3.5), SFG & CIN (both -2.5) between them and current 3rd WC slot holder SDP (Mets are #2 at +1.5). So do they see themselves as buyers or sellers at the deadline? Or is that decision still TBD and subject to change based on what they did in the previous game ... or inning!
  14. Let's not lose sight of the fact that this will be one game this year out of 2,430
  15. It wasn't an especially pretty win, but it was a good one.
  16. Phils beat Boston in the 10th: Ghost Runner - Walk - Wild Pitch - IW - Catcher's Interference Blue Jays beat the Yanx again!! Now 4.0 G up and 6-2 vs NYY on the season including Ws in the last five straight.
  17. It wasn't a thing of beauty (McNeil's GO for the 3rd out was the hardest hit ball of the inning) but it's 3 runs so I'll take it.
  18. And now a mighty (but well-placed) weak grounder!!!!
  19. A mighty RBI weak bouncer!!!!
  20. Uh-oh! Bases loaded no outs and the middle fo the order coming up.
  21. Leadoff batter reaches ... then K - weak grounder - K
  22. Pitches thrown thru 5 innings: Angels: 63 Mets: 95
  23. We're Really good at pop-outs lately.
  24. Three innings from the starter .... Yippee!
  25. Getting the ball out of the infield isn't something we're big on doing.
