  1. And Jackson Merrill ties it (B-6) with a HR off Wheeler (who appears to have gray hairs in his beard at age 35).
  2. Meanwhile, back to actual baseball: with 1st place in NL East on the line (Phils w/one fewer loss than Mets) the Phils are leading 4-3 in bottom 6th in SD Wheeler v Darvish was the matchup although Darvish is gone by this point. A PHI loss would put us in a dead tie heading into the game preceding the ASB. Not too bad for a team that's now exactly .500 since the beginning of June and looks to be getting healthier in the pitching department. Phillies also .500 since June 1 coming into tonight's SNB game
  3. Just don't get tied into the idea that the replacement p-b-p voice HAS to come from someone already in house. I mean it's great that Gary and Howie have NYM pedigree going back to their childhoods but that shouldn't be seen as a prerequisite. Raad and McCarthy seem to be doing fine on the radio side even without NYM pj's in their past.
  4. Scoring late runs this week like it's twenty-twenty four
  5. I love this call and DESPISE IT at the same time.
  6. As has been the case in most of our recent games, just 4 hits (1 double, 1 HR) thru 7 innings.
  7. One over the minimum thru three innnings for Montas.
  8. Gelbs (on India's double): 'Diving stop by Vientos ... but he can't reach it' Kind of reminds me of the old days of Jim Gordon on NY Ranger telecasts. - Shot on goal ... wide - Puck is cleared ... but not out - Shot ... is a pass Gordon had a good voice. good cadence, knew the game, but constantly tried to call everything a half second Before it happened which, particularly in a constant action sport like hockey, becomes essentially a fatal flaw.
  9. There was a 'Lumineers' concert at CitiField last night with Mr. Met was in attendance fulfilling his role as Ambassador to all things NYM related. But it seems he took a wrong step and took header off the stage which, as we all know, can be considerably more dangerous for Mr. Met than it would be for someone with an average sized cranium. No word yet on the extent of his injuries or whether he'll need to miss any games post-ASB. Mrs. Met was not involved in the incident.
  10. There is some erratic-ness in him defensively, particularly throwing. But he does have SS hands and SS movement which tends to play anywhere. Nice to be on the good side of the BB game last night: 8 vs 2 (both by Senga). One walk drove in a run and three of the others eventually scored. Too often this year (and last) we've been finding ourselves on the wrong side of that equation.
  11. Well this is a sudden and unanticipated explosion.
  12. And Philly loses at the same moment as the HR
  13. The ol' first pitch sabotage trick from Lindor!
  14. 7-8-9 up for Philly in the 9th
  15. Philly down 4-2 / bottom 8th out in Sandy Eggo
  16. That's deserving of a renewal of the Primal Scream from a year ago.

  19. Two hits (now three) both singles thru 7. This follows the DH where they had 5 hits (3 singles) and 5 hits (4 singles). So that's a total of [CROSSOUT]12[/CROSSOUT] 13 hits (10 singles, 3 doubles) in 25 innings. We can moan about the pitching all we want, but the bats just aren't getting things done.
  20. Rave almost got on via that simple grounder. That would have been a crazy feeling.
  21. Whatever we do tonight, getting into a brawl is probably not a good idea. Salvatore Perez: 6' 4" / 255 Vinny Pasquantino: 6' 3" / 245 Jac Caglianone: 6' 5" / 250 But Caglianone just got forked over by Senga
  22. Bases juiced ... we need a HBP!!
  23. Senga tip-toeing through tulips so far. Five baserunners = zero runs but some luck and at'em balls were involved.
  24. He usually gets the job done even though the Romanian judge keeps giving him style point penalties.
  25. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=197756 time=1752181523 user_id=119] I read somewhere that teams tend to split doubleheaders most of the time.
