  1. ⚾️ Immaculate Grid 178 9/9: Rarity: 21 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 Play at: https://immaculategrid.comhttps://immaculategrid.com @immaculategrid x @baseball_ref STL/BOS: Jack Clark 2% STL/200 HITS: Frankie Frisch 0.5% STL/HOF: Joe "Ducky" Medwick 0.9% DET/BOS: David Wells 0.8% DET/200 HITS: Charlie Gehringer 2% DET/HOF: Hal Newhouser 5% SF/BOS: Carl Mays 0.1% SF/200 HITS: Bobby Bonds 10% SF/HOF: Bill Terry 0.4% I really like it when it the grid contains old teams so you can try to fill as many black-and-white images as you can. Carl Mays I got only because when I lived in SF there was some quiz about "FIRST Mays of the Giants" and it was Carl not Willie, Carl more known for his Boston on-the-field fight with Ty Cobb and even better known for killing Ray Chapman with a pitched ball. In any event, glad to be able to use this pointless knowledge.
  2. Immaculate with a rarity score of 43 (Angels SB upped my rarity score): LAA/TOR: Scott Downs 0.4% LAA/SB: Chone Figgins 25% LA/GG: Jim Fregosi 2% CHW/TOR: Alex Rios 5% CHW/SB: Eddie Collins 3% CHW/GG: Nellie Fox 4% LAD/TOR: Curtis Granderson 1.0% LAD/SB: Pee Wee Reese 2% LAD/GG: Gil Hodges 0.8%

  4. I guesses Dizzy Dean for 200 Cardinal ks. He led the NL in strikeouts four straight times striking out between 191 and 199 batters. Maddening.
  5. Took a while to come up with Angels-Tigers but finally did, completing it. Woulda had a record score except for the saves guys were too common. LAA/DET: Damion Easley 1% LAA/NYM: Charlie O'Brien 0.03% LAA/saves: Troy Percival 38% SD/DET: Tony Clark 1% SD/NYM: Gary Sheffield 2% SD/saves: Heath Bell 14% NYY/DET: Phil Coke 3% NYY/NYM: Hal Reniff 0.08% NYY/saves: Dave Righetti 6%

  10. Pretty pleased with mine today, getting a rarity of 32: Pirate/Red Sox: Tony Pena 2% Pirate/Red: Denny Neagle 1% Pirate/200k: Oliver Perez 4% A's/Red Sox: Jimmie Foxx 2% A's/Reds: Joe Morgan 10% A's/200k: Lefty Grove 3% Braves/Red Sox: JD Drew 3% Braves/Reds: Mike Lum 0.5% Braves/200k: Phil Niekro 6%
  11. O's all the way. I was just at my first game at Camden Yards and saw the Mets get clobbered in the first game of that series (James McCann, grrr). Orioles fans sitting around us couldn't be nicer, plus it has been a really long time since the Orioles have even been in the World Series.
  12. KC/HOU: Jose Lima 0.9% KC/MIA: John Buck 1% KC ALL STAR: Darrell Porter 0.07% OAK/HOU: Octavio Dotel 6% OAK/MIA: Walt Weiss 2% OAK ALL STAR: Tony Armas 0.05% NYM/HOU: Bob Aspromonte 0.08% NYM/MIA: Preston Wilson 0.8% NYM All-Star: Ron Hunt 0.04% Rarity Score 11
  13. I remember the year Don Sutton went into the HOF I heard an interview with Joe Morgan. Morgan said that when you knew you were going to face an all-time great you had to psyche yourself up to meet the challenge. The interviewer asked him if he felt that way when he faced Don Sutton. Morgan said that he had to admit that he didn't. I never felt while watching Scott Rolen or Fred McGriff that I was watching a future Hall of Famer. Yeah, there are worse choices that have been made in recent years (looking at you, Harold Baines) but this is a pretty ordinary couple of inductees.
  14. Immaculate with a rarity score of 18: Giant/Royal: Vida Blue 3% Giant/Met: Jose Vizcaino 0.1% Giant/.300 Bill Terry 1% Pirate/Royal: Jason Kendall 10% Pirate/Met: Frank Taveras 0.3% Pirate/.300 Bill Madlock 1% Red/Royal: Vada Pinson 0.2% Red/Met: Roy McMillan 0.09% Red/.300 Ernie Lombardi 0.7%
  15. It was fun. I go hot and cold with Wes Anderson - really disliked The French Dispatch but liked The Grand Budapest Hotel. There are others I've liked and others I've disliked. While sometimes annoying the good well outweighed the bad this time.
  16. Immaculate day for me: Bal-Cle Jesse Orosco 0.2 Bal-NYM Joe Orsulak 0.5 Bal-STL Todd Zeile 2 Cle-KC Bud Black 1 NYM-KC Keith Miller 0.2 KC-STL Gregg Jefferies 0.9 Cle 300 Early Wynn 13 NYM 300 Warren Spahn 2 StL 300 Kid Nichols 3 Like it that I remembered Jefferies and Miller i the same trade.
  17. I went with Zack Wheat for the Dodger 200 hit club (0.8%), with Bobby Richardson for the MFY hit club (0.1%) and Richie Ashburn for the Phillie hit club (5%). Met/Dodger: Roger Cedeno (0.08%) Met/MFY: Hal Reniff (0.001%) Met/Phil: Rico Brogna (0.8%) Astro/Dodger: Jim Wynn (1%) Astro./MFY: Joe Pepitone (0.05%) Astro/Phillie: Hunter Pence (11%)
  18. And will they check pitcher's hands and give 'em a 10-game suspension if too sticky?
  19. Yeah, liked it a lit. Late period Willem Dafoe is pretty great. I'd thought of Pattinson as a lightweight before that but he held his own.
  20. Picked other since he's hitting second today.
  21. I'll go with Howard Johnson, 38 hr, 117 rbi, 1991 (most)
  22. Carlos Beltran, 41 homers, 116, 2006 -- most RBI
  23. Somebody has to take the least at 53 so I'll say Pete Alonso in 2019 with those 120 rbi.
  24. I was there just a few weeks ago and in one of the tube stations I went through there were giant screens advertising the upcoming Cubs-Cardinals series. Yeah, going to the Mets-Phillies there would be pretty great. I might try to figure out a work-related reason to be there coincidentally at that time. We'll see.
