    =smg58 post_id=75890 time=1630277333 user_id=62] I'm not sure what Lindor's involvement was, but they gave up more than the Yankees did for Rizzo and the Giants did for Bryant for what they are now saying was a half-measure (and got somebody that people will now be happy to see go in two months). And they got no relievers, and Rich Hill was the best they could do for the rotation.

    With the rosters expanding by only 2 on Wednesday, the Mets will have some tough decisions as McCann (to replace Nido?), Guillorme, Peraza, Gsellman, and SRF are almost ready.

    This week: ATL had 2 off days in a row and SD/LAA have Sunday (today) off.

    The Mets traded one of their few good prospects for Baez, and two months of him, at the urging of Lindor, who they signed for 10 years and a zillion dollars, and both of them told the fans to "fuck off" today.

    The Mets would be better off if Luis made his decisions and then did the opposite, like George Costanza.

    Villar did everything he could to add to his total number of times getting thrown out on the bases by 1) admiring the flight of the ball 2) jogging to first 3) turning his head to watch the ball and the fielders instead of focusing on the 3B coach and running as hard as he can.

    I don't have SNY available today but Howie thought that the reversed call was correct. It seemed as if it was possible that Lindor's heal grazed it while he was holding the ball. What did Gary and Keith say?

    Guillorme was in the lineup that day so unless he is activated I'm guessing that Baez will hit for him. I'm not well-versed in MIA but it looks like half of their lineup is no longer on the team.     From NBC Sports Edge (formerly Rotoworld): "New York signed the veteran outfielder to a minor-league deal on August 11 but has been batting a mere .182/.289/.303 over 11 games for Triple-A Syracuse. Reddick will look for another opportunity on the open market."

    Remember when the Mets played SF on August 18 and Luis had Maz bunt to lead off the top of the 10th and Maz made an out erasing the runner on 2d? I do but Luis forgot. That was 10 days ago. I'm starting to think that Luis is being paid by other teams to hurt the Mets (despite the Conforto HR).

    Stroman threw 91 pitches and this is a must-game (I guess). He should have started the inning.

    Villar needs to be in the lineup and bat first... gets caught stealing, can't beat out a grounder in the hole. Alonso and Baez did their parts to make another minor leaguer build up his resume for 2022. Boo the crap out them.

    Another great moment on the bases for Villar. I'm sure that JD's confidence is sky-high sitting against a lefty. And again, Alonso, Lindor and Baez made this garbage starter look like a star.

    While they're at it the Mets should tell Luis that his number (19) is being started and as a result, he can't manage anymore.

    My math might be off but since August 1, when the Mets were in 1st and traded at Top 10 prospect for a guy who is a FA--the same guy that just hit into the game-ending DP, the Mets are 6 and 18 while WSH, which traded many of it's good players and gave up for the year, is 6 and 16. Brilliant work by Sandy, Zack and Luis. Kudos!
