I just passed the laptop to my wife so she could read the story. Very touching. Thanks for sharing.

Fairchild didn't make enough bad calls at home last night, so he has to make more tonight?

For those of you in NY, I thought you should know that whenever A. Rodriguez comes up, ESPN leaves the Mets game! Between that and Steve Phillips, I love ESPN!

    Green won a Gold Glove?

Did SNY have any idea who would take Sosa's next turn?

I think Shouse... let's hope we find out.

Anybody else watching on EI? Usually, any non-Mets announcer makes me want to throw things but the Brewers TV guys are good! Daron Sutton, Bill Schroeder.

Do I have this right? The Mets bench for the night is LoDuca, Marlon, DeFelice, Newhan, Gotay? Only 1 of the 5 has been on the team all season.

FK--I've been listening to Russo over the internet today for Mets news. I guess he's a good host and facilitates phone calls but he really doesn't know anything about baseball (maybe this isn't news to long time listeners). I didn't get any Mets news from 'FAN today that I didn't know from the internet. I've been watching [u:7b1473e2f5]BIB [/u:7b1473e2f5]with my 14 year old and he can see a nexus between all of the events. Perhaps it's too complicated for Russo.

Braves acquired LHP Royce Ring from the Padres in exchange for LHP Wil Ledezma and nonroster LHP Will Startup.

Just posted by [u:6fa8a754e9]The Washington Post[/u:6fa8a754e9]: Official word is in: The Nationals have held onto everyone on their roster. Take a deep breath. The latest rumblings - and this stuff got wild fast - is that there may have been some talk of a three-way deal involving the Nationals, Mets and Diamondbacks, with Cordero likely going to the Mets. As we said earlier, Mets had offered Philip Humber. Nats wouldn't do it one-for-one, a late gasp to get Arizona involved, not sure of the players there. All right, I'm going down to talk to everyone and will give you a briefing in an hour or two. Thanks for clicking refresh throughout the day.

    ESPN Tuesday

bmfc1 replied to a topic in New York Mets Talk

Steve Phillips just said that the Braves will win the NL East. I guess the Mets should concede since Phillips is so smart.

Alou approaches his ABs as if he's double parked.

Since Rickey took over at first, it seems like the Mets are caught more than they're successful.
