AG/DC sayeth: "And I'll probably have better luck seeing them down here in DC for the next few years than youse will have getting seats at Citi. Suckers." I'm pretty sure they'll have a series in Balmer next year, too.

The shot of the guys in the tunnel on the way to the clubhouse showed them not jubilant but serious... perhaps they were already thinking about the next game.

Nicely done by Murphy, against a lefty.

I ain't afraid of no ghosts. I'll laugh in a Philly fans face; I'll say "we" when referring to the Mets; I'll wonder what the Magic Number is. Worrying about the Baseball Gods got us nowhere last year. This is our year, and by "our", I mean the Mets and us, their fans. October belongs to the New York Mets.

METS (72-59) 7 Reyes, SS 1 Castillo, 2B 5 Wright, 3B 21 Delgado, 1B 15 Beltran, CF 19 Church, RF 28 Murphy, LF 23 Schneider, C 34 Pelfrey, RHP Welcome back Luis. He takes Maine's spot on the roster (DL). Big game tonight guys! LET'S GO METS!!!

Broxton struck out Werth in the 9th, one out to go and it's Tracy, a guy who hasn't had an AB in the majors in 4 years. Torre breaks Broxton's momentum by going out for a talk and Broxton then throws 6 straight balls until Feliz's game tying single. There was no reason to talk (Tracy is a lefty but so what--he's just up from the minors and even Joe Morgan knew he was nervous). Way to go, Mr. New Lifestyle. We still hate you.

Agreed. Bad loss. This one hurts and makes tomorrow's game a big one.

    GO...

Newhan's homer was his 1st of the year; Ausmus hit his 2nd; Erstad hit his 3rd. Mighty nice of the Mets to be such gracious hosts for such lousy hitters.
  14. bmfc1
Ausmus does it on Jewish Heritage Day. Unbelievable.
  15. bmfc1
Murphy's AB music is "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by the Dropkick Murphys

Time for a walk-off win! "We've got the team work, to make the dream work...."
  17. bmfc1
Schoenweis did well too, on Jewish Heritage Day.

Not that we (as a forum) are immune to pointless posts, but overall I find the level of writing and thought provoking discussion on the CPF to exceed that found at many sites that I have visited over the years. Agreed... it's just that one page struck me as unusually small.

Dear Derek, No, we will never, ever, go to your website. Not lately, not ever. Enjoy having October off. Yours truly, Mets Fans

When you have J. Reyes' speed, and can steal bases the way he can, it's a bad move to take that chance.
