  1. Three times in two days have a grounder hit off the Braves pitcher and deflected right to an infielder.
  2. "Damion Easley is out, although Jerry Manuel was going to check on his availability to pinch hit. Manuel seemed reluctant to hit Easley, however, because the injury (right quad) was on his back leg."
  3. Selig helps out his old team this way.
  4. The mlb.tv feed isn't working. I waited for 15 minutes to find out that "there's an issue" and "they are working on it."
  5. Castillo looked so good in that AB that he deserves a start--that was sarcastic.
  6. The guy in the TV commercial.
  7. I hate the albino physicist.
  8. And they got a SF with the bases loaded--the Mets hit into a DP (Easley).
  9. According to the advertisers for FOX baseball, their viewer is a man, who has ED, prostate problems, and heartburn.
  10. When Church went back for that fly ball, he looked behind him--I wonder if he thought of the ball he missed against Florida.
  11. MGIM-5-2-3 DP. Ugh.
  12. We've only had Mets baseball for 4 of the last 9 days.
  13. Revised lineup, above.

Hampton P Brian Schneider has been scratched from the lineup tonight with bursitis in his left knee. Schneider said he has a little extra fluid in the bursa sac in the top of the knee, but he indicated its not serious and he expects Catchers get it at the top of the knee because of the pounding, Schneider said. I never had it as bad as it is not that its terrible. But when I go down to block a ball, you feel it. They recommended to take a day and let it calm down, said Schneider who said he could have played if this was Game 1 of the playoffs. Robinson Cancel will catch tonight. Ramon Castro was activated from the disabled list. 15. Frayed Knot wrote: Good for Howie but did FOX just lose an announcer and need to pick someone up to fill out their sked? I think that their usual baseball announcers (Joe "I Don't Like Watching Baseball" Buck, Kenny Albert, Matt "XFL" Vasgersian, Dick Stockton) are working football the next day so, given that baseball is a lower priority, FOX went in-house (Chris Rose, from "Best Damn Sports Show") and to the local teams for fill-in help.

  17. No! This shows that we're looking at last year head on and saying "F U!" As has been said many times today, the Mets have half the lead they had last year at this time but we're twice as confident. Jerry said that he liked when people brought it up because it shows that the team isn't afraid of repeating what happened. Next week, I will walk into Nats Park, undoubtedly be flooded with the awful memories of the two games I attended at RFK last September, and say "NO WAY!" [u:c4a3d0a946]Bring on the magic numbers![/u:c4a3d0a946]
  18. I wouldn't call it "lame" but I was surprised that Howie missed that one given the plethora of pop culture references that he uses (e.g. Office Joe Blanton).
  19. September games against the Nationals are as tough as playing the Phillies. Next week's 4 games are scary.
  20. The only times Jerry can use Heilman from now on are: 10-1, either way, 9th inning; and the day after they clinch. Other than that, he can watch the game like the rest of us.
  21. That was for what I mentioned earlier. Ray Knight is doing color for MASN and said "that's the way the game is played" and Dukes "doesn't understand what it takes to be a major league player."
  22. When the Mets "style" after a homerun, it's a big story but I guess other teams feel like they can do it. To me, it looked like Dukes blew kisses toward the Mets dugout and was smiling and yukking it up for several minutes in the dugout.
