  1. Mixing and matching is sometimes OK but Acosta's doing better against lefties than righties so this didn't make sense. Jerry can't be gone fast enough.
  2. Outstanding. Thanks for posting.
  3. Good awareness by the immortal Chris via Twitter: MetsWFAN Ed talks to Chipper tonight on Mets Extra at 6:45. If you should feel the need to switch to another station, interview will end at 6:51.
  4. Nice job Nymr83. They should have a giveaway of a calendar with those pix the first weekend of the season.
  5. Coming to a mall kiosk near you: The 2011 Mets wall calendar is out and, as always, it's partly comprised of players that are no longer Mets and players that may not be Mets next year. In a surprise, there is no month with a picture of Joaquin Arias. It's hard to tell, but it appears that the 12 honorees are: Daniel Murphy Ike Davis Luis Castillo Johan Santana Jeff Francoeur Jason Bay Mike Pelfrey John Maine Jose Reyes Francisco Rodriguez Carlos Beltran David Wright. http://www.calendars.com/New-York-Mets/New-York-Mets-2011-Wall-Calendar/prod201100005686/?categoryId=cat00433 Mr. Lincoln-Murphy once again has his own calendar: http://www.calendars.com/New-York-Mets/David-Wright-2011-Wall-Calendar/prod201100005498/?categoryId=cat00433
  6. I was wondering the same thing about Richmond and posted that question at the506.com. I think that Dallas gets the AL game because of the Rangers.
  7. 09/18 map included, above.
  8. Every Thursday home game but two is a day game. 9 weekday starts at either 12 or 1.
  9. Since Jeter can't get on any other way, just lie. Way to set an example. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=12117903&topic_id=11493214 "You miss a call and you're gonna throw Joe out. That's big of you." (mlb.com does a nice job with the "Must C" series.)
  10. Gwreck wrote: All 3 visits to Washington are on the weekend. Sadly, no. The April series is April 26-28.
  11. The Mets have scored as much as the Jets last night. (As a Jets fan, I'm not proud of that.)
  12. Here it is: http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=nym&m=4&y=2011

  14. MLB_PR The 2011 @MLB Regular Season Schedule will be officially released tomorrow 9/15 at 10:00am ET From Adam Rubin: The Mets' interleague schedule will have an American League West flair next season. In addition to the customary home-and-home series with the Yankees, the Mets are due to play at Texas and at Detroit in 2011 and will play host to the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics. While the schedule has yet to be officially released, the Mets will open the season on the road against the Florida Marlins, according to a source with knowledge of the schedule. The Mets have played at Texas one other time -- in 2003, during a series in which Steve Phillips was fired as GM and Jose Reyes was promoted a day before his 20th birthday. The Mets last played at Detroit in 2007. That series included the Tigers winning the rubber game, 15-7, after pounding Tom Glavine for nine runs in 4 1/3 innings. The Angels last visited Flushing in 2005. The Athletics last visited in 2007.
  15. The Cubs are going to interview Bob Melvin: http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5571619
  16. Nice chart, thanks. I enjoyed your comments.
  17. In the midst of this lousy season and the nonsense, past, present and future, winning this Phillies would be great.
  18. So are the Mets! Fixed. Thanks.
  19. METS: Reyes-SS Feliciano-RF Pagan-CF Wright-3B Davis-1B Thole-C Duda-LF Hernandez-2B Pelfrey-RHP Phillies: Victorino 8 Polanco 5 Utley 4 Howard 3 Werth 9 Ibanez 7 Schneider 2 Valdez 6 Kendrick 1 Beltran is not in the lineup because he has a meeting about his charitable foundation.
  20. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/jeff_pearlman/09/10/mets/index.html Pearlman, who aspires to be Klapisch, chimed in. Missing is the praise that 22 Mets DID visit the hospital.... Pearlman says he was wrong: http://networkedblogs.com/7JnhQ
  21. Geez, the Mets gotta lead the league in being called out a strikes. Are they too passive or do they have a problem with pitch recognition?
  22. As for 09/18, Braves @ Mets: http://the506.com/sports/?p=736 Atlanta @ NY Mets Matt Vasgersian, Tim McCarver San Diego @ St. Louis Chris Rose, Eric Karros [AK, HI] Detroit @ Chi White Sox Josh Lewin, Marc Grace

  24. Good tweet: craigcalcaterra Worst part of Johan's surgery: you just know Beltran, Perez and Castillo won't visit him in the hospital.
  25. An MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan yesterday revealed that Mets pitcher Johan Santana has suffered a tear of the anterior capsule of the left shoulder. The injury is located on the front and bottom part of the shoulder close to the pectoral muscle, resulting in discomfort radiating through both the pectoral muscle and shoulder. Santana will undergo surgery in the near future and we anticipate he will be able to resume throwing in the spring.
