  1. I think that we are going to be seeing a lot of Scott Hairston in RF this season.
  2. Are they being coy with us? If he's still hurt, then tell us. We heard how great he felt after Sunday and that he wanted to play two days in a row, then yesterday he was "a little sore" so he didn't play, and now he's out of both lineups today. If this was the previous regime, he'd be in surgery tomorrow.
  3. Agreed--it's a great, what is it? It's not a magazine, it's not a book. Whatever it is, it was well worth the money.
  4. Guys! just said that the rule is 4 players that could make the major league roster. "Could."

  6. METS: Reyes-SS, Pagan-CF, Wright-3B, Beltran-DH, Bay-LF, Davis-1B, Hairston-RF, Murphy-2B, Nickeas-C, Niese-LHP =#FF0040]Red Sox: Scutaro 6, Kalish 8, Lowrie 4, Nava dh, Reddick 9, Anderson 3, Middlebrooks 5, Linares,7, Exposito 2, Bowden, rhp I thought that teams had to start each ST game with 3 or 4 regulars.
  7. Not a good day for Dusty Ryan and Justin Turner. Each will probably be in the 1st round of cuts (Ryan gets a stay if Paulino is still out).

  9. Nobody should read too much into Ollie's outing as the Cardinals only brought one regular player today so he was mostly facing minor leaguers.
  10. mlb.tv is having trouble with the feed--sometimes the pictures and sound go out, other times we get the sound but the picture is from a Turkish League basketball game.
  11. What a school! Dave Atell, Amy Schumer, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Edgy!

    2011 Roster

Rubin makes his roster prediction. http://proxy.espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/15869/projected-roster
  14. I've never seen Beer Money but from what you and everybody else has said, you're definitely right!
  15. No TV or audio today. I am aware, as we all are, that these games are meaningless but it's preferable to listen or watch them then look for tweets or other updates. Why don't the Mets send an announcer or two to the game and broadcast it over the internet? Guys! doesn't even have to go--use the minor league announcers, it would be fun to hear them. What's the harm in doing this?
  16. My one encounter with Jay makes me agree with Gwreck: spring training '86, I go into the trailer next to the practice field to buy a media guide, I see him and say hi and he looks the other way. Another day I'm watching practice, say hi and he ignores me. Maybe it was me or maybe he thinks that relating to the fans is not part of his job description.
  17. He made plays in each of the first two games that had the announcers raving.
  18. On FAN Saturday, Evan Roberts was talking to Sandy Alderson and said that the win total was 78.5. Evan asked if we should bet the over and Sandy said "absolutely."
  19. Sign on the RF fence sure to be commented on by snarky media members: Send In The Clowns It's not a commentary about the Mets (or a Judy Collins fansite) ... it's a party planner.
  20. Both from today: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/15484/harris-rear-ended-on-i-95 http://www.metsblog.com/2011/02/26/willie-harris-on-his-knees/
  21. ABC: anybody but Castillo.
  22. OVER--Mets, Blue Jays, White Sox UNDER--MFP, Cardinals, Giants.
  23. LWFS has it right. I didn't know this until I bet $20 on the Jets to exceed 9.5 wins. The ticket said that the pay out would be $38.50.
  24. The Mets over/under win total is 78.5. I say over.
