  1. It's not a lock that Rob Johnson will be the victim of Josh Thole's return. Johnson is a better hitter, Nickeas is a better fielder, neither is fantastic.
  2. http://metsmerizedonline.com/2012/05/mlb-mock-draft-2-0-is-gavin-cecchini-the-future-mets-ss.html New mock. Seawolf's guy is at 31.
  3. 2 outs, nobody on in the 7th and a piece of crap like Brian Schneider at bat... and it all goes to hell from there.
  4. Everyone enjoy the report by Guys! on Yadier Molina? He won't be playing against the Mets until Friday but Guys! chose to highlight the splendor of Y. Molina as if we needed the reminder.
  5. I do... Pat Sajak might think we shouldn't: http://www.mediaite.com/online/pat-sajak-thinks-public-employees-shouldnt-vote/

  7. Way to stick with your convictions, Shorty.
  8. Did Teufel hold Johnson late so Turner was expecting the throw home which lead him to make a big turn which lead to the injury?
  9. Peter Gammons wonders if Fred Wilpon will want the Mets to draft this left-handed pitcher who is Jewish and wears number 32 for Sandy Koufax: http://espn.go.com/blog/high-school/baseball/post/_/id/915/top-lefty-fried-happy-at-new-home
  10. Yes, Second Spitter, it's "Guys!" as in "Guys, I'm standing next a banner which has a picture of us guys and the last guy looks sort of like Guys!, guys?
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Was George Will playing nicely with the other boys and girls? It was years ago but standing at a ball pit watching my son while George Will was sitting nearby watching his son was a strange and memorable DC moment.
  12. Nicely done FK, but I'm no Tim Kurkjian (this is what FK was referencing): http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-joy-of-winning/2012/05/24/gJQAnUjAoU_story.html I did see George Will once at an indoor playground and Krauthammer scooted by me after a Mets win last season.
  13. Chad Ochoseis wrote: You're obviously making this story up. The Nationals don't have two season ticket holders. Two pals that split one of the mini-plans.
  14. Here's today's triple steal by Vanderbilt: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/26/vanderbilt-triple-steal-florida-video-baseball-vandy_n_1548462.html
  15. That was funny--Keith thought it might be an insult but Gary thought it referenced Flushing, Queens.
  16. Frayed Knot wrote: Probably should be pulling for the Braves at least for this one seeing as how the Nats have won the first two in that series. I went to a party today and two Nationals season ticket holders were there and one said to me "are the Mets still in the league?" Nationals fans are getting cocky very quickly. Pulling for the Braves tonight.
  17. Adam Rubin ?@AdamRubinESPN If you're looking for last consecutive complete-game shutouts, that would be same combo: Johan (8/12/10 vs. COL) & Dickey (8/13/10 vs. PHL)
  18. Your Banner Day finalists: http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/ticketing/banner_poll.jsp?partnerId=aw-5965328640306723812-1061 Hard to see as you cannot enlarge them. I voted for "A" and refused to voted for "C" as Terry Collins is the sunshine.
  19. A clever organization would have streaming video of the banners.
  20. Nice job with the chart Edgy.
  21. Johan's position as he stood there waiting for the runner to end the game was fantastic.
  22. Sounds like a perfect day Ceetar... bring home a win.
  23. "Mike" Nickeas. As in, "the Mets activated Josh Thole and sent Mike Nickeas to Buffalo, keeping Rob Johnson as the backup catcher."
