Oh, that game still haunts me. Hot as hell. Moved to 4 PM so FOX could show Strasburg. The Mets had a good first inning and Francoeur just missed a Slam. Yes, Parnell and F. Rodriguez gave the game away. Here's my picture from that game:

What a shame the Mets have something unusual: a baseball player that is interesting and well-spoken. Let's have more Lucas Duda's instead! This is Mets management speaking evil about a Met, a beloved Met, that has been on the cover of [u:2f6dkdyi]Sports Illustrated[/u:2f6dkdyi] twice this year--how does that happen for a lousy, perennial fourth place team?--someone that made me proud to be a Mets fan. Perhaps the bounty that Alderson gets for him will pay off one day and we'll look back at this trade as a turning point. I hope so but today, I don't care. The Mets are about to trade the player that gave me goosebumps.

You'd think that the new cap would be available for sale after it's big debut today but you'd be wrong.

Given the Mets financial constraints, I think that John Lannan would be signable. We know he's a New Yorker (from all the shots of his parents at Citi Field whenever he pitches) so maybe he would take less to pitch near his home. We keep hearing about how starting pitching is the Mets strength but they need depth so they don't have to rush anyone and don't have to resort to the likes of Chris Young and Jeremy Hefner anymore. I agree with Swan Swan H about Flores and Gorzelanny. On MLB Tonight last night, Mitch Williams said that the Mets will end up with J. P. Arencibia while Tom Verducci agreed that the Mets would get a catcher but said it would be Jarrod Saltalamacchia (longest last name in MLB history, per Wikipedia).
